It’s finally official, HPI Racing has released news that there will in fact be a HPI Baja 5b SS Super Sport large scale rc buggy.
The new HPI Baja 5b SS buggy will include many new features such as it’s new HPI Fuelie 26cc engine which produces more power and torque then the 23cc Fuelie gas rc engine found in the RTR HPI Baja 5b. HPI has also greatly improved the shocks on the new HPI Baja 5b SS buggy by making the shock shafts thicker to help prevent bending, something that was common on the HPI Baja 5b RTR. Heavy duty dog bones are also found on the HPI Baja 5b SS to help handle the added horsepower coming from the new HPI Fuelie 26cc engine. You can now customize your Baja body as the new HPI Baja 5b SS will come with a clear pre-cut body allowing you to paint the baja any paint scheme you want!

HPI Racing has just announced that they will be releasing an aluminum tuned pipe the HPI Baja 5B. The HPI aluminum tuned pipe set delivers more power and quicker throttle response than the stock Baja 5b muffler. The large diameter aluminum header tubing flows smoothly into an expansion pipe that directs the exhaust cleanly out the back of the Baja 5b buggy. The stinger design is optimized for a perfect fit in the HPI Baja 5B rear cage. The sound is louder than stock and tuned to sound like a 2-stroke motorcycle engine for realistic performance.
The HPI Baja 5b Tuned Pipe Set comes with everything you need, just bolt it on and feel the difference! HPI Racing also recommends for use with the High Response Clutch/Shoe Set (15448), Low Drag Piston/Ring Set (15436), or one of HPI Racings optional Heavy Duty Pinion Gears (86496, 86497, 86498).

The new HPI heavy duty wheel bead lock rings were designed to protect the tires on your HPI Baja 5B! These heavy duty rings are primarily intended for use on the rear wheels, but they can also be used on the front wheels. The updated design bolts onto all existing HPI Baja 5B wheels. Each package contains a pair of inner and outer rings, enough to do a pair of wheels. Available in a several colors to match your option chassis and paint scheme!

Designed with the experienced HPI Baja 5B enthusiast in mind, HPI has released a High Response Clutch Shoe and Spring Set for the HPI Baja 5B. The stock clutch setup in the HPI Baja is good for most driving, but if you want your large scale buggy to launch off the line with authority and use all of the power that the Baja 5b has to offer, this is the set you need.
The stock HPI Baja 5B clutch starts to engage at 6000 RPM and is fully engaged at 7000 RPM, the High Response set engages at 8000 RPM and is fully engaged at 10,500 RPM, which launches the HPI Baja 5B at higher RPM for more punch off the line. HPI has designed lighter clutch shoes and a much strong clutch spring to achieve this goal and extra punch!

HPI now offers pre-painted HPI Baja 5b and HPI Baja 5b SS buggy bodies in three different color schemes. Not only do the new HPI Baja 5b bodies come pre-painted they also come pre-trimmed so all you have to do is apply decals and you’re off to the races! The HPI Baja bodies are sold with upper, lower, and front body panels with the option to buy the lower baja 5b body panels separately.
