FG Monster Diff Sealing

This tutorial is assuming you’ve just finished our FG MT differential rebuild tutorial and you’re now looking for ways to better protect as well as extend the life of your newly rebuilt FT Monster Truck diff.

First mark the area around the differential sleeve with a marking devise.

Install a small bead of silicone sealant at the mark you made on the housing. Install the differential ring gear and secure lightly using the 4 set screws. A small amount of the silicone will get behind the ring gear when set in place.

Shown is the upgraded stainless sleeve but installation is similar with stock. Slide the sleeve over the housing and set it into the silicone. Install the sleeve stop screw and you can now tighten the ring gear screws using Locktight to keep them from backing out.

Install more silicone sealant on the top and at the ring gear to trap the grease in the differential.

If at any time you would like to install more grease you can remove an outdrive and install the grease through the housing.
