FG MT differential upgrade
For all of you FG Monster Truck owners and Clone owners here is a good idea to do eventually. If you just do steps 8-10 at the time your ride is new it will reduce the chance of major damage to the differential sleeve.
I just bought a replacement for my stock thin aluminum differential cover. The only thing is it did not come with any how to or watch out instructions and I could have missed out on many of the steps leading to more down time. I would like to share my experience with any other that may think of doing this for the 1st time. Remember I have a FG Monster Truck and some items may be different depending on your truck.
It is a good idea to remove the engine for this so that the final silicone step can be done. Remove all the parts so that you may remove the differential and clean the chassis well.
Remove the keeper screw. If there are no holes in the stock sleeve carefully slice a small area so that you may peel the sleeve off like an orange peel. Careful not do damage the inside plastic differential that is directly under the sleeve.

Clean the gears and install new differential grease – I don’t think it is necessary to fill it completely since it will be constantly spinning the grease to the outside gears.

Press your gear on the new differential sleeve so that it is flush to the outside edge.

It is very important to reinstall the keeper screw.

Reinstall the differential gear screws – Make sure to use Lock Tight to keep them tight.

Reinstall the differential and put some petroleum jelly or grease on the new sleeve – This will allow you to install the silicone in the next step without it sticking to the sleeve.

Install silicone sealant to the chassis in the front and the back of the differential. This will lessen the chance of larger rocks getting caught between the sleeve and the chassis doing damage to the sleeve.

The silicone will help eliminate those rocks getting in the differential and eating up the sleeve. Let the silicone cure overnight before reassembling the rest and allow it to completely cure before use.
