Man I have the same buggy you have. Took min out for a 1/2 tank of gas and the radio lost contact with the car. Broke a front wheel, but i cant figure out what is wrong with the radio! The book that came with the car has a different radio in it. The radio just beeps. Got any ideas?

hi mate the common problem with the km is the radio gear and servos.
best thing is to rip them out and bang in some good servos and get a decent transmitter.
if you don't your likely to have run aways and that will cost you more in the long run.
hope this helps jon.:)

From mass,live in nc.

After cleaning the baja last night found one of the front shock tower supports was snaped in two places.
This car has not did one jump, maybe 2 roll overs from donuts, nothing hard at all.
very weak parts on this thing.

Anyone know if the rubber cover on the rear axle is replaceable or is it alright to drive the car with it ripped all the way around ?
where is the cheapest place to get after market parts for this baja,Ebay?

hi mate if ther torn on the wheel side you will be ok to drive around for a while but if its the diff side then your better off changing them straight away but get hpi genuine ones.
i got some off ebay for 6 quid which is about 4 dollars give or take the odd cent.
hope this helps
jon.

the front shock tower support are common to break ,as for axle boots go for hpi ones ,ive had the aftermarket ones and there no better ,rpm plastics are good and very tuff just replace stuff as it breaks, make your self a front chassis brace from 4mm alloy the front of the chassis bend very easy in a front end crash,

I just was trying to mess with my remote also and was thinking all it does beep to.
But, the button at the 9 o'clock position is for steering, the button at 12 0'clock is throttle and I don't know what the button is at 3 0r 6 o'clock position.
mine came with the wrong manual as well.

To get the trims to work you have to hold the button with it constintly beeping and you will see the servo moving.
Nothing at all on my remote make anything on the display but, a abs light and something else.
the actual bars that sould show your trims on the display do not do anything,it's almost like the screen is there for nothing.
It might as well just have old manual trim knobs.
More and more I'm thinking I should have got something else, maybe fisher price would have had more of a reliable vehicle.

Motor and trans so far are still awesome.

Ya i was thinking the same thing. It would be nice to have the correct manual and some tech support! The abs button is for the breaks. turn it to abs and watch the servo. it keeps you from locking up the breaks. but it takes longer to stop.I have a e-mail out to the guy we got them from ,but no reply yet. :white-flag:

mattsphone001.gifhere is a pic of the wheel i busted when i lost radio control. the fail safe locked the breaks up and is slid into a curb. picked up a HPI set of front wheels today to replace it. they are the same.I cant see any quality difference. Every thing is made in china, and different co. put there name on it!

I've seen the wheel break on lots of cars bud, hpi/km ect, if you fit something such as a curb then it will do some damage.
I can't see the difference on most parts either with quality, same maker just a different stamp to them if you ask me.

Take a look @ Silverback Product wheels, they are better looking/stronger (imo) and a very good price too.

At least the failsafe kicked in on the radio gear.

Here is a quick rundown of the radio I found on you tube. That CD that came in the box with the radio is the manual. Put it in the comp. it will bring up the file. As for my radio, its crap! The radio or the receiver is bad i don't know which one. I hope the seller will make good on his product!

My disc came broken and I did not know what was on it.Any chance you can share your file ?

The HPI wheels are shite bud,I have had so many cock-ups with them its unbeliveble! I found the KM ones much stronger. But as Jacko says, take a look at the Silverback products, they are ok.

PM me your e mail and ill try to send it to ya.The beep sound means your bat. voltage is below 9v in the transmitter. Just talked to Dan, he is going to send me a new module and receiver. Thats good! I would buy from him again.

Dan stands behind his sales thats for sure. I had my baja show up with a broken rear hub and a bad servo...he made right on them both...I plan on buying from him in a few weeks.

Man this thing is so fragile.
The other day I went out.ran a half tank no issues. went back out to finish the tank and made one pass tto the back of the yard before making it back it rolled some how and broke a rear shock tower support and bent the center brace.
Today I installed another support and straghtened out the brace.
Went to a field for some wide open driving and about 3 minutes in striped out the rear left wheel.
I tell ya,fixxing is out weighing the driving time.I don't think this baja has drove for ten minutes straght without something breaking.
I broke my savage about everytime out too but,I would be doing 15 foot high jumps and run it anywhere, and basically try to break stuff.
I think a future upgrade is going to be some sort roll cage that covers shock towers.
Every roll has broke something so far and it is getting depression.
