OK, I'm not spending the rest of my summer messing with this, gettin a new Engine!

I won't to try OB this time, but they have ALOT to choose from!
27ccm? 29ccm? Race mod? Full Mod?

Any information is much welcome!

You need to ask yourself, what do you want.
High revving, higher power, low low-down torque - smaller, modified engine - or lower revving, higher power, high low-down torque - larger, modified engine.
That's a very general comment, but it can be applied to several motors.

Depends on what you want and how much you willing to spend !

They're got killer full mod 7.5hp 27.2cc
Long block is a good choice if you want to save a little cash just transfer all you existing engine parts flywheel, ignition coil, carb, pullstarter ect or buy it already completed

wanna donate that troublesome engine to me :D :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

OBR just came out with a new line of engines called the pro-stock. They are similar to the race ported but do to changes in the porting are putting out more HP on the dyno. They are reasonably price.

Are you wanting a complete engine or a long block? How much are you looking to spend? In my opinion the race ported and I would guess the pro-stock are smother through the RPM range and the full mods are for HP junkies. If you go full mod get the long rod engine.

Sean O'Neill got in touch with me yesterday about some questions on the CPI pipe. They are going to do some testing with them.

Right now I'm a bit unsure what to do, I'm getting very good help from Doug at ESP and he's sure he can help me. I'm waiting for the alu gear plate and will give him a call after that is replaced.

iv heard alot bad feedback about (esp) earth surfer ported, engine seize, tuning problems ect but don't get me wrong they are good engines when its running properly but its not a great engine reliability just aint there

Best guys to buy an engine from are OBR their engines are known to be extremely reliable and fast, every one knows they build the best modified engines, you should also contact sean from obr tell him what driving conditions your into and he'll recommend the best engine that suits you! (unlike ESP they'll sell you anything) Team obr a great bunch of guys that are approachable

don't take my word for it

google both companies obr/esp and you'll find obr out weighs esp by far

ITS A FACT!

Can’t say I have read a whole lot bad about ESP but I have heard a WHOLE lot more about problems with his engines then I ever heard about the OBR. The few problems I have read about with OBR they made it good even if it was not their fault.

The thing about Dug at ESP he ports engines pretty much like he has for years. The OBR are constantly testing and coming up with better ways to make the engines performer better and more reliable. This is why they went from their race ported engines to ProStock engines.

Sorry most not have been around when you asked about which engine those would recommend.

Exactly right esp keeps building the same style engines without trying anything new unlike obr always coming up with new ways to squeez more power here and there without sacrificing reliability:cool:

I ment before I bought my first ESP engine, but I see that you wasn't a member on LSF back then :):):)

Yeah i was'nt around then

Have you made up your mind which engine you going for

I recommend you go with obr you wont regret it

but which ever engine you choose i hope it all works out:)

I'm ordering a Full Mod long rod 7hp on monday, but I will keep the ESP for another project :)

What size are you going to get? I wish I could afford one of there OBR FM long rods. But for now I will be happy if I do not have to sell my 5b SS do to my situation.

I had a kind of situation last month myself, but with a new job and a tax refund I'm back in the game.
I'm getting the 29.5cc, it had about 1000 more rpm said Sean at OBR :)

Good choice and if I where to buy one right now that is the one I would get. I have been out of a steady job for 2 1/2 years and just found out do to health issues I cannot go back to my trade. But considering my situation I am not doing fairly well.

Sad to hear that, hoping it all works out for you! I find this hobby to a good thing to keep my mind off other things :)

When ever it cools off I hope to get back to this hobby. At my age I do not fair well with heat index of 100 to 110 and sometimes more. The damn humidity is always bad here and that is worse then the heat.

I have a OBR race ported 30.5 kit I built a motor with all new parts and only have 3 tanks through it do to the damn heat. LOL But cooler weather is just right around the corner.
