how much should a used vekta with not many upgrades if none cost??? curious cuz i really really want one. i know i am always hating on em but tbh i don't mind upgrading it alot. thinking about selling the baj when its fuly upgraded next winter or summer, obvs not with the engine, id keep that. i really like how the kv5 handles. buying a brand new kv5tt and then upgrading it to handle the 70cc would cost upwards of 2k so i cant do that, the most id probs get for the baj would be 1500 when fully upgraded ? i dunno

I paid $1300 for mine, shipping was $100. Came with a Flysky remote, 2s lipo, and double steering servo upgrade. Paid another $150 for a slightly used Bartalone pipe from same guy.
damn that's expensive fir me! thx for the reply. maybe ill save fir one and sell the baja next summer for winter, I dunno depends on how much I want one by then.

As a total newb with most things off road, are these not as good as they look?

I've just seen Rc maxx supply these in the UK

It depends on how you look at it. It is a unique vehicle. It has a range of unique issues and since its a new release, now is about the time where owners start to realize what design flaws is in the truck as the issues start to surface. So at a first glance it may look like the truck is a POS but thats only because issues start to show now for a lot of owners, as is expected. thats why Losi makes version 2.0 etc of their vehicles as flaws are discovered that can only be discovered through use over time. The vekta have had a plethora of gremlin issues, most likely stemming from the fact that its a very heavy vehicle and the people who build it are passionate hands on guys more than engineers with calculators in their pockets so they may have underestimated the stress some of the material is put under when you do sommersaults with it at 50mph.

Offroad puts a lot of strain on the material and the truck as a whole. Thats just the way it is. Offroaders break far more poop than on-road racers, which is why theirs are often complete alloy because why not. They want more stiffness and they crash less. An all alloy offroader driven as an offroader will soon take the general shape of a football with a couple of wheels sticking out.

TL:Dr. Its not quite as simple as "not as good". Personally I am still getting one eventually. When I am done with my Baja I think the Vekta or Dragonhammer is next in line. Leaning towards the dragonhammer or the cousin to the dbxl made by the same guy but sold by a Korean boat company. Cant remember its name.

Brilliant post.
I think a similar situation has occurred with the Traxxas UDR. I have one and love it BUT i don't bash it like a lot of people out there. It's a scale truck so I drive it that way. So far, I've broken a hose off a Fire extinguisher and that's from a roll.
This trucks looks very much like a 5th scale UDR... I'm thinking if driven in the same way I drive my Traxxas it'll be OK.

Interesting to see the view points though. Thanks for the feedback ?

Xr1200 i thk?

If they dropped the price of upgrades by 30% I'd consider a vekta but I say with the amount of stuff you have yo address with the stock model I'm not happy with the overall cost of the mods
i will agree on that, the upgrades are expensive. id be getting a roller and upgrading all the drivetrain to handle everything.

To me over priced pieces of aluminum and heavy. I have a few friends that have them and love them for the look and thats it... even with big engines they don't wheelie etc. As far as them used you wont find any cheap. Upgrades are expensive as hell compared to bajas or 5ives

Yeahm I do really want one but I don't think it will happen for the price, and upgrades price. Also I don't expect to find one for 400-500 im thinking 800-900.
