got it up and running for my first break-in. started up fine after some tuning and ran it for about 25 minutes. when the engine shut off I took off the shell to inspect everything and noticed there was no fuel in the primer bulb and the whole carb was pretty hot and it wouldn't prime. I think something inside the carb melted. I'm going to blame the rb innovations isolator block. back on the bench she goes:poop::poop:
ive been reading (mostly from Dougstar) that the aluminum poopy isolators are a problem, they absorb heat from the motor (in most cases, some haven't had any issues tho) and the heat transfers to y carb and theres the problem. so yeah i think its that pos rb thing, go back to the stock isolator and try.

yeah, its coming off. i have a new stock isolator block another 990 and a 668 with a choke. i may put the 668 on because winter is around the corner up here in new york and this thing is gonna be a female dog to start in the cold

I always feel bad seeing folks spend the money on a part that ends up being garbage. Sorry for your luck on that. I've never really been sold on RB Innovations. They always seem to be trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist.
Yeah I’m not too upset about it tbh. I’m new to the hobby so any and all experiences are good. Even if it only means that I’m gaining knowledge and throwing away money

25 min is a long run time for a break in

After a couple heat cycles, yeah, that's the recommendation, keep it under 50%. But really, I know a lot of scooter guys who go WOT on the first start of the engine and they're still running. Sure it won't likely last as long before needing a new cylinder and rings, but these motors are a lot tougher than people give them credit for. Unless they're a clone, of course. Right Z.?
