I bought a 3.2 oz. bottle of synthetic oil and it says a gallon makes 40:1..I'm no mathematician..so how much gas do I need to make 25:1? Thanks.

I can only work it out in metric so here goes........

1 US fl oz = 30ml x 3.2 (for your bottle) = 96ml

96 x 25 (25:1 ratio) = 2400ml or 2.4L of gas

Converting back to US gallons........
1L = 0.26 US gallons x 2.4L = 0.624 gallons of fuel for your bottle
:smartass::smartass:

Hope this helps :badair:

Get a 2 stroke mixing bottle off Ebay, or perhaps a local garage or similar.
They indicate a 1 litre fill point, and then give several options of how much oil to add to give 25:1, 32:1, 40:1 etc. Cheap as well.

Ok thanks guys..Atom my friend got one of those bottles with his King Motors..I definitely gotta get one.

you need in US measurements 5.2 oz of oil for one US gallon to make 25:1 ratio

4.2 oz of oil would make 32:1 ratio in one US gallon

and 3.2 oz of oil would make 40:1 in one US gallon

correct me if Iam wrong? I use 4 liters of petrol and 160ml of oil and does that make a 25:1 mix? Ive been using it method for 2 years and Ive had no problems.

Question here, I run my FG 32 to 1. I hear about all the 25 to 1. Am I going to hurt anything? Easy to figure out, 4oz to a gallon. So in my area alot of the 2 cycle oil comes in 8 oz jugs.

I run just standart 2 cycle oil from the parts store. I haven't got into the synthic stuff yet. Though at work they switched us to synthic stuff for our hand saws and that kind of stuff. Ended up blowing up some of the stuff. After that we were told you have to watch some of the fuel and such. Gas will break down within 30 days and with some high test oil could be quicker. Also, being from the Minnesota (USA) area they add some stuff to the fuel for the winter mix, so keep in mind different fuel for the seasons.

Your mix will go 'off' after about 30 days thats why its better to use a 1L mixing bottle if you don't get out too often. That way you can store your fuel and oil separate until you need it.

Good idea Dawrfy, makes sense. Being from the US I still haven't gotten the liter thing:laugh:

I also thought that if I went 32 to 1 I could use it in my weedwacker (40 to 1) or in the winter in my ice auger (25 to 1):laugh:

Just some worldy thinking:laugh:

hell im just finishing up gas i bought last November. Literally just filled the tanks with the rest of it 2 days ago. runs just fine. i use Premium 93 here stateside.

The litre thing wont make any difference if you have a mixing bottle. It has a fill line for the gas and then the different level fill lines above that depending on what ratio of mix you want. You simply add the oil to the gas until you reach the desired ratio marker. They have 25:1, 32:1, 40:1 50:1.

The mixing bottles would be better if they were 700ml or 1400ml then you would be mixing 1 or 2 full tanks of fuel rather than 1 full tank + less than half of a second tank :cursing: :clown::clown: Just a thought :clown:

Here's the mixing bottle I got. They are a couple of quid of ebay or from model shop.

hi guys , when mixing petrol and oil they is one thing i don't get, i got a mixing bottle like the one in the picture ,so if i wanted 50/1 i put less oil in and if i wanted 25/1 i put more in which doesn't add up to me because 50 parts oil must be more than 25 ?,what i have been doing is put a two stroke oil bottle (the one for still saws) and then fill with unleaded and that should be 30/1 ,this makes my head hurt :p.........................phil
