@oskygt: I saw your posting and immediately laughed. Why? I know the feeling...

I have sometimes missed the gasket that goes from the manifold to the cylinder head, I mean that when attempting to line up, it falls into the side of the engine and don't notice until later when I get a gasket leak. Not saying that could be, but its a possibility, and if you have plastic gaskets, use paper gaskets in between, always.

You stated you have a FG, but still gonna cover the basics; all head bolts and spark plug tight.

Redo the throttle servo, with the engine off, check full motion of the metal wire and that there is no jamming, kink from neutral to full throttle.

The idle screw may have moved (rare though), when tinkering with the carb.

Going back to the pipes, the clone ones are cheap, buy the 30 dollar dragon or the 35 dollar clone dom, world of a difference compared to the can muffler.

Edit: the throttle section, you left the stock intake manifold, throttle stays the same.

Yeah, I needed to adjust the linkages but it was very minor, nothing catches, with the shredder i got good space nothing rubs. I was looking at the Rovan V2 silenced pipe, 69 bucks, anybody has or tried that pipe?, I'm still window shopping, trying to get everybody's take on different pipes.

I've also been looking at that pipe. Please let me know if you get it and what you think of it.

Got the pipe in today, V2 silenced clone from Rovan, mounted up pretty easy, I was stumped as to where the mounting tabs bolted to, I removed the alum cross bar on the rear of the roll cacge, just under the wing, secured it with the included bolts, added a washer & locknut. Very solid, does not touch nowhere on the plastic roll cage, replaced the plastic rear bumper rods with steel ones I got on ebay, well protected if the chassis bottoms out. Have not started the engine to see how it sounds, I just got back from chemo therapy ( yes, i'm a cancer patient) and i'm a little wore out, plus it's raining trucks and planes here. Maybe during the week if I feel better i'll give it a spin and report on how I like it or not. later guys,OSKYGT out.

Also got in the sway bar kit, since my roller did not include any, every thing went fine until I started to mount it t the rear bulk head, the screws are too thin and don't screw and catch in the bulk head holes, the screws are too thin, i'll have to search in my screw box and see if I have any that fit, thanks Rovan, tell the guys in CHINA TO CUT DOWN ON THE OPIUM THEY'RE SMOKING SO THEY PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT THE HELL THEY ARE DOING. And maybe they can see the set screws which they did not include either. Thanks

ok, found the right screws that fit the bulkhead sway bar mounts and the locks nuts in the bulk head, everything mounted great. Thank god I always never throw away extra screws from all the cars I've built over the years, I even keep the ones my friends throw away. everything good, bash on Bro's.

I hear you buddy, but man a thread without pictures, mostly when you talkin about install this and that, its boring.

Send the pictures to my email or check some youtube videos. Having pictures definitely helps...

Thanks for helping me out Crank, not to great of a fotographer. to CrisL, that's what the pipe looks like mounted, did not expected to be that big, but looks intimidating back there ha ha, let you guys know how I like it or not, ok?.

If I were you, give it a few runs before you keep upgrading, unless you have some good reserves for when things go wrong.

I read about the pipe, its one of the best for the baja for its price. Yep, its a little exposed and is prone to get bent sooner than later.

For the engine, there is a brace that goes on the right side, and replaces the silly plastic with the outer metal clip.

(np about the photos, am glad to assist) I feel I am at work, LOL, don't forget to provide good feedback... ja ja

Yeah, that's my plan, run it for awhile, funds are getting tight and have to take it easy, wife wants new furniture, froze my hobby money ha ha.

Adding parts, upgrades is all cool, if you are building a shelf queen.

But if planning on driving, expect more breakage, its just a fact. And if it does not happen, lucky you.

Is the FG 4wd, I find it strange you got one of those back in the island, where parts availability is minimum hard enough for 5th scale.

Is there clubs and other RC enthusiasts in your area? I am more into 1/8th when it comes to on-road, right now my nitro is been overhauled, cleaning it up, parking lot bashing picks up a lot of dust.

If I build a shelf queen, i'd build plastic model kits, I use my cars, that's what I buy and build them for, the FG is 2wd, has a Zenoa in it. it started life as a FG clone, ( where have I heard that designation before ? ), and I took it to full evo spec, minus the hydro brakes, the car has full cable brakes and stops on a dime no need for m to up grade them. As for clubs, no we don't have any , just about six of us die hard fans from the old days who still enjoy the hobby. We had a great complex with on and off road tracks but they got shut down, was located at the Roberto Clemente Sports City, but like always, polititions fiddlesticked everything up, miss handled funds (stole money) and the place had to be put down.
as for 1/8 scale, I still have my Kyosho GT. an old heavily modified clod buster I bult for my grandson. As for parts, Puerto Rico is a Commonwealth of the US, evrerything available to you ,I can get, by way of UPS or USPS in 2-3 days, I also shop at rc-car-online in Germany for my FG needs. I'll send you a pic of the FGnaked so you can check it out.
