Looks to me like leftover adhesive from an outer wear pull start cover. pretty strange since it's new.. goof off or goo B gone will remove it. bigger question is if it's new why was it there in the first place .
Yeah I'm sure but I just wasn't expecting to have to do all of these things right out of the box you know?

Yes that's pretty lame , sadly I think it was a return. send the pictures you posted to them in an email. I'd request they send you a ups label to ship it back for a replacement or a big discount to keep the one you have. I'm better they are going to give you a big discount.

He is sending me a new pull start he claims is an upgraded part other than that I think the rest is normal according to all of the posts I've seen.

Well I hope this pull starter works better and you get to start your truck, rust, problably humidity where the cars are stored prior to shipment or something like that. Good luck.

Yeah he sent me the pull start with the aluminum pawl and it started on the 3rd pull. Possibly right on the rust it looks like there was some in the stock pictures as well. Thanks for the input.

Great, glad everything turned out for the better, bash on !!!!!!.
Ok just for an update I've tuned a bit and the top speed is 31mph. I was expecting more and it's a blast even at that speed but when a friend came to bash with me in his 1/8 nitro he smoked me everywhere so I was thinking I'm still needing a bit of tune because the 30.5cc with the fat boy pipe ( according to king motor) should do 40 out of the box. Not there yet and I would expect 1grand to beat a .21 nitro buggy that cost 200 bucks but I will see maybe just some tuning. It sounds good and runs good but on top end it like reaches peak then slouches a bit not sure why if you have any input I would appreciate it thanks.

Don't worry about it Bro, just run it a couple more tanks and keep tuning in very SMALL increments, and you will find your engines sweet spot, have faith, you'll see, bash on.

P.S., I got to get me one of those trucks like really bad, I got a jones for one.

There goes the tax return... ja ja ja

I dig the 4WD benefits, but still prefer the Baja. It is a much lighter vehicle, easier to toss around and a challenge to drive. Of course it wont do everything as a 4WD in all terrain conditions. On very loose dirt the Baja is at a disadvantage, but in a nice semi compact dirt surface, with maybe some low grass patches, the Baja shines.

The truck is very heavy, and it takes a while for the engine to reach peak power. I prefer the snappiness of the Baja, cant imagine a OBR in it, which thats my next goal. Rooster tails with the stock engine are a joke, must be a blast with some extra ponies, je je.

Donnie; you are comparing two different classes, if you are frustrated a nitro .21 pulled on you, don't even match it up against a 4S lipo Losi truck 1/10, it will do laps all day around your X2. If speed is what you wanted, then a OBR engine should be your next upgrade. The X2 shines in handling and how it goes over rough terrain, the sound, its just closer to scale. The nitro .21 buggy, slap a Novarossi with 30% fuel, and you will never catch it. And there is a guy in rcuniverse and in rccaraction that you send them the nitro engine, and they balance blue print them, putting those little mills to a whole other level.
The number one reason I still have my buggies and other on-road nitro cars, the power on demand is just unique, and the awesome smell of nitro in my car compared to the nasty lawnmower fumes from 1/5th.

+1 on the Killer Bee. I still think all RTRs should come with a built in kill switch, or at least have that option before checkout. Who knows, maybe they don't do it, else they will be liable if the device does not work. Could open a nasty can of worms, people calling the kill switch never engaged, and now demand a new truck/ Baja/ or compensation.

Looking good with the T1000B, not sure if you have done so, threadlock every bolt, preferably red compound all around the engine area.
Inspect the diff gears, and throw in some 20k diff oil up to the diff pin cross hairs (don't top it off). The stock oil is thin and seems its only for shipping and keeping parts from rusting out. If the shocks are too stiff, drill out only THREE holes to about 1mm, and add 20 or 25 weight oil.
On the front shocks of mine, I use organic olive oil (LOL), and works good for me, in the rear is shock oil, no cooking stuff.

Just a few pointers, if you have done them, disregard then, and on the same, throw in any suggestions.

I am waiting as well for the weather to clear, all this snow is making the Baja sad.

I threadlocked everything with blue. The diff is very stiff right now turned by hand and I decided to run it and see. The shocks are stiff but have a lot of preload screwed into them and I thought I would try taking some out and decide on that later too.

I like how it looks. Kind of a pain to remove because it fits so tight.. Since I have only ran about 1/4 of a tank so far do to the weather I haven't formed a lot of opinions yet.
