Looks good ! could have done with a bit more weight shaving off for brushless though, at over 12kg run time is going to be a push with 4wd drive to. Can't believe there saying you need 2x 5000mah lipo !!! that will give about 10mins run time if your lucky. Car like that needs minimum 8000mah to give it some run time. Bet it will be great fun though

Well $h-t.....I have a brand new KN DBXL sitting right in front of me, never seen one spec of dirt and now this comes out. Now I have to sell the gas one so I can get electric one. Maybe I will run into some cash and own both? For now its on CL, that electric one looks so sweet.

Yep I agree it looks good and Brushless is all I run now. So much less hassle than petrol, Although I now own some serious charging gear and lipos !

There are many 'converts' in Largescale who prefer electric - I'm not one of them!

It has it's place, and will be very popular, permitting many to use their RC's in areas 'GAS' would be considered 'inconsiderate'.

Electric-powered is considered perfectly acceptable.

Thing is, it just seems too much like a big kid's toy ... just not that 'special' - for me.

We all have our opinions, that's mine.

Nice stock option on a very popular truck.
Many have their reasons not to 'go gas' - personally I prefer largescale petrol powered, just seems right.

Should be very popular.

I personally prefer gas as well, but agree this electric version will likely be a popular choice for many. Can't wait to see it in person!

The only issue with a conversion is you still have to much weight for any good run times. My friend has a DBXL converted to electric on a 12s lipo system and he gets about 8-10 min hard run times. Plus the money he has in lipos wow I could buy a nice OBR engine. The new DBXL-E has shaved weight but not sure about the run times. Losi said 10-12 min but that's not really that much better than the conversions.

I bought a dbxl put a 600 motor in it regeared it and some other mods I don't even have an exhaust on it yet and I'm running 53 mph runs it gets their within 50ft and I get an Hr run time off one dgi tank..

I love my gas powered dbxl the thing is upgrading one is expensive. If your like me I love speed so out of the box it didn't work for me so I upgraded it to a 34cc Zenoah race ported stroked 6.25 hp motor. I didn't get a chance to put an exhaust on it yet. But with dgi 23/58 gearing it dose 53mph and it gets their in 50ft.hated the remote so I upgraded to a fatabu 4pv and hitec servos all and all I got about 1800 in her and another 1000 in up grades planed to boot. I still think it's better to spend the money on a gas and upgrade it. I get an Hr run time on a dgi tank. How much are you going to need to spend on batteries to even run an Hr I spent about 65 cents

I have one coming, can't wait :D

I ordered some RevTech 6950mAh, 14.8v, 4s, 100c liipos for it.
Then yesterday I was looking for MT tires for a friend and come across set of lipos for 1/4 scale biplane I started on last fall, that was put on hold. A new set 5000mah Turnigy Graphene 4s.... I forgot I had them... ya hooo!!!
So I now have two sets of lipos when it gets here..

COME ON.... HERRY UP!!!

Ok friends, I have been kinda overwhelmed and run here and there with both of the new 1/5s...... lol
I like both my losi-E and Rovan LT4x4 gas..

I am using 8s in the Losi and its plenty fast! I haven't put a full run on the packs to see the times, cause I like to "so called", run the packs in. Run 3 to 4 min stop, cool x 3.
I will report total run time on full packs latter.

The suspension is working good out of the box, there is lots of time for tuning.
It amazes me how good this buggy jumps for its size.

I like how quite the losi is... if I get a hankering to go run at night, it wont be bothering anyone.

There's going to be a lot of snow fun this winter for sure!

I picked up mine yesterday, I got it on ebay using a 20% discount code, so that saved me $300

I've soldered up my used 4x gensarespammers 4S 5000mah 40-100C packs with EC5 connectors, and was wondering will 40C constant be alright in it ?? It's just that the specs recommend 50C packs. I tried to program the ESC with my Hobbywing wifi module to no avail, no problem though as the ESC is very simple to program compared to some.

I'm dying to take it for a run but it pouring down rain atm, so I've been adjusting the camber and toe settings, and fiddling around with things

Also, the AreaRC alloy hop-ups for the gas version would be a direct fit I assume ???

Nevermind the PS controller in the pics, I wwas showing the boys on the PS forums :D

Me too.
The Tamiyas in the 80's cured me of electric.
I'd much rather put a bit more fuel in than wait for batteries to charge.

Looks great and i'm sure your looking forward to a run out, pretty sure those batteries will be fine but keep an eye on them. If there getting hot of puff at all you know there not up to the job :) a lot of it comes down to driving style though, keep throttle smooth and you will get good run times and nothing will get to hot. Let us know how you get on with it
