I see this question asked several times, but nobody seems to be able to answer it. Yes, you can run 5B fronts all around the DBXL, but what about running the 5B rear's on all four corners of the DBXL? Are there any issues? I built a brushless DBXL from scratch. It's not quite done yet. I have the Desperado 5B rear rims and Proline Bow tie tires. Swapping them on all four corners, I see there is a very slight contact in the front with the turnbuckle which can be easily remedied. I don't have the cage or body yet, but in terms of chassis and suspension, it seems to clear everything fine. So before I take the plunge and buy another set of 5B rear's, I want to be absolutely sure they fit. They aren't cheap! That's $200 in tires/rims!
Also, I've looked at 5B tire inserts. They have molded rears which are medium soft. The fronts are just strip pieces of foam designated as "soft". I'm sure it's like this because the Baja's are RWD. But for our DBXL 4wd buggies I'm not sure just a strip of foam will be good enough for the front. Another reason why I don't want to run the front 5B tires and rather have the rear 5B tires all around with the harder molded foam.
Opinions/advice much appreciated. I opted not to buy the stock losi wheels/tires because of the odd size (no upgradability and soft tire odd tread pattern.
