I am going to be the first Losi 5ive-T new fully custom Billet Reed Engine! With their titanium exhaust, and Crazy Stu’s ram air Intake In my “Keeper Build”. Has RC Max’s V2 full 7072 Aluminum version of 7072RC’s Pro Am Chassis, 7072RC’s Front and Rear Pro Am Diff Housings, a lot of Aluminum, PhatDad’s Drivetrain, with Team Chase Center Cups, Modified Center Diff Mount, Crazy Stu’s Mega Diff Locker In the center, upgraded transmitter and Receiver to Hitec’s Lynx 4S transmitter and 4 channel receiver with built in GPS, and a bunch of optional sensors I’ll be running, Blackbone RC Pinion and Spur Gears, hardly anything will be stock. I am having the body custom wrapped, Hitec Servos, Killer 7200mAh 7.4v lipos, hardly anything will be stock. I’ll run stock wheels and tires at first, but have DDM’s Billet Spoke wheels. I bought tons of spare parts. My introduction, my name is Justin, and questions are welcome! I’m waiting on MIP’s break-off company for some good shocks, and hopefully good brakes, etc..

Little info on Engine:

I will start a build thread when I start. I’ve only just ordered the motor. So it’ll be some time. I have a 2018 5ive-T, and boxes of parts. I have the top piece of the rocket stand, and the swivel joint. My friend will weld an extension, and a base. I plan to work on a table, so the full stand was way too tall. But I will have a Build thread once I start.

Here are some pics of this beauty!:
The sixth picture has the the Works RCMax Titanium exhaust, and the Crazy Stu’s Intake. The choices I chose because Thomas from RCMax said they are the best choices. But I got the Stu’s Intake in Red to match most of the Aluminum I got.

That is so beautiful, my god I can't wait to see this thing go. Is the casing much larger than the stock engine?

Also, this motor is built custom from the ground up, it wasn’t a Zenoah or a CY originally. This is a custom Billet motor. It’s expensive with those options I chose, literally just under $3000 usd. I think it’ll be money well spent. They estimated based on something similar 26-27 horsepower. Not sure how much with the Ram air intake, and the Works RCMax titanium exhaust. Thomas tells me they are a world renown exhaust maker

It actually isn’t, it’s only like a bit heavier thank the 71cc he sells, and he thinks the difference is in the clutch. It has a 69mm clutch, and the 71cc has a 54mm clutch.
It’s the first of it’s kind, a motor completely built from the ground up, Billet bottom end, Billet head, uhhh let me share with you what Michael had to say about this motor, it’s his brain child:

Unlike your Other big motors, which are a modified Zenoah, CY, or some other Goped engine maker. The RCMAX90 GT is a complete scratch build, every piece of the engine is custom made from the ground up to create the ultimate engine specifically for RC Vehicles (only available for the Baja and 5ive-T). The Case is our own custom design, we use a 8 petal Carbon Fibre V Force 3 reed System, The crankshaft is custom made from hardened steel to our own full circle design with crank stuffers. Even the Cylinder is cast to custom port timing for us, with a huge bridged exhaust port and 6 transfers.
Yours will be the best version of my Ultimate Engine. 90cc Fully Ported Billet Reed Engine with full ignition, Billet Cylinder Head, Billet Pull start, Custom Tony Green/RCMAX Titanium Exhaust System (http://www.tonygreenracing.com/home), Full Crazy Stu intake system, WJ71 Big Bore Racing carb with mods, Complete RCMAX 69mm Clutch system, including bell and billet bell carrier. Plus as mentioned the Engine will come with matching Pinion and Spur gears. All mounting brackets etc are also included to drop straight into a Losi 5ive-T

Our exhaust is designed by Works Tony green. A world famous artist of two stroke pipes.

Just some info on the engine from Michael Taylor himself. Detroit Performance, is the US reseller for this motor, and some of RCMax’s other stuff.

Michael and John from Detroit Performance are both guys. My hats off to Michael for building this one of a kind motor!!! He’s become quite a good friend.

20180305_192111.jpg 20180305_192021.jpg I read on it a few days ago when it was introduced, it seems like a monster. I wish I could fork that $ over for something like that. They are awesome looking and some of the best out there. I just bought a obr 34cc v2 reed case, suppose to be 9.4hp. But step up either way from the stocker. I'm not sure my mtxl with the boggers on it, the drive train likely wouldn't hold up to that lol.

It sure is expensive, and I have a brand new OBR 47cc engine complete kit sitting here. But I plan to keep this truck, why not have a custom billet 90cc Reed engine in it that was built for what its being used for. Not nocking built Zenoah’s and CY’s, because OBR does amazing things with them. But I just could not pass this up! I’ve known Michael for a little while, and this is his baby. If he’s excited about it, it’s something worth g the money!

What are you using the 47cc obr for? I really looked at one but they didn't offer it for the mtxl yet.

Most likely sell it, I don’t want to run it first, because it’s worth more brand new. I have BBRC Spur and Pinions in two different variations. The one they recommended, and the gears they run in their car. I’ll have a bunch of 5ive-T parts for sale. I have some duplicate parts, parts I bought originally, and then parts with a better reputation as I learned and had more money. This RCMax 90GT cost me A LOT. but I think a motor built from the ground up made for RC usage will be the best motor. Not only is it made from the best custom stuff, but it’s not just a modded Goped Zenoah or CY. This was Michael’s brain child with a fully billet motor, built from scratch for RC usage.
If you don’t have a 5ive T, I wouldn’t buy it, because it has mounts for the Losi, exhaust for the Losi, and I have two gearing sets, one may work in your MTXL. I think it’s made solely for the 5ive T. Like RCMAX’s 90GT is made for the Baja and 5ive T only.

Uh oh! First off, the tire size of the MTXL will definitely put way more stress on the diff than the 5ive-T tire size. I had HD diffs ready to go in if I blow a diff. And I have front and rear 7075RC Pro Am Diff housings, and a center Crazy Stu’s mega diff locker/spool in the middle. Also have Black Bone RC pinion and Spur gears, a Modified center Diff Mount, all PhatDad full drivetrain, besides the Team Chase Center Driveshaft Cups, and every brace you can think of, Modified Shock Towers, RCMaxx’s FULL 7572 CNC version of 7572RC’s Pro Am Chassis, Innovative’s Big Bore Shocks(next best shocks to MIP’s) and when the MIP break off company releases their big bore shocks, I’ll be sure to upgrade to those, oh, and one very important thing I forgot to mention, I’ll be running 1,000,000 weight Diff Fluid in both Pro Am Diff Housings. Who knows what weight diff fluid that DB/MTXL was running when it blew its diff. So everything is going to be very solid in place for where they’re meant to be while riding. I think chassis bending, motor movement, diff housing movement, etc.. can all lead to things breaking. So I’m making sure on this build everything will be exactly where it should be when I’m having fun with it. I also have an older model 5ive-T with some 9.5hp OBR Reed motor I bought from a friend for pretty much nothing. That one is fun, but the price tag on this custom RC Max 90GT, the other Brand New OBR 47cc I’ll probably leave brand new and sell it, to replenish some of the expense of this gorgeous motor. Michael didn’t mention having any issues with the Diff’s, and John at Detroit Performance, I spoke in depth with about this motor (They are RCMAX’s US reseller), I asked him if I should throw the HD diffs in now, he said no, and no to the MIP Diff kit, he said the stock diffs are plenty strong. So I’ll save the HD Diffs for backups, if I have issues, but I expect the tires to lose traction, I’m not going to run slicks on pavement or anything. I’m going to run stock tires right away probably. I have Dave’s Billet “Spoke” wheels and Micky Thompson RC4WD MTZ Tires, that are going on the Billet wheels, I might just run those off the bat, they aren’t very nubby, and will likely just tear up grass and dirt at the motors highest torque range before grabbing. You won’t find me ripping it on cement that’s for sure. I’m Sure I’ll find the weakest link eventually, and it will probably be a diff I would guess. But the locker in the middle will help spread the torque out more evenly at least. Maybe the 90GT is only available for the 5ive-T and the Baja for a reason. Who knows, but I’ll find out.

I’ll have pictures of the tons of parts I have already received, just waiting on a few things before I begin the build. This may just be my Build thread, since I put so much info on it here already. I’ll take detailed pics of RCMax’s 90GT, and their version two (full Billet 7075 Alum. and of course cut on their 5 axis CNC) of the Pro Am 7075RC Chassis, but today, I got in My Innovative RC Big Bore Shocks, here’s pics of the Rears, Rob from innovative built them for me and threw in a set of their wrenches for adjustment with the 110lb springs. Time will tell how they compare to MIP’s, and if the MIP ones are clearly better, I will swap them out for the MIP when they are re-released by the break off company from MIP. They plan to release Big Bore Shocks first. The innovative ones look very nice and well built, and definitely quality pieces. For info on them:
http://www.innovative-rc.com/rear-b....html?osCsid=9d56b1529ad40b603d2fabde1cd43cff

Like I said, Rob assembled them for me with correct springs for my setup. I just need to add oil and bolt on. And a couple pictures of my custom table height Rocket Stand with swivel joint. I didn’t want to stand to work on it, IV stood and laid working on Drag Cars and Motorcycles my whole life. It’s time to be able to sit and work on this build. So the Rocket stands tripod was too tall. I bought the 5ive-T Top plate, I bought the swivel joint, and my good friend Ricky, extended it 6” for me, and put a base. He’s a very good welder and custom mod work.

no way will a db/mtxl withstand 90cc....not happening......theres a mtxl on u tube with a 70cc in it and it couldn't take that.....blew diffs for a pass time.....:(

Oh that's for sure, but if you have the will and $ anything can hold up lol. I want a 47cc rcmax they are sweet. Just have to wear this obr out first lol

Nice , this will be a killer build. My 70cc 5ive was flying can't wait to see 90cc performance.

Thanks! And this isn’t just your average Modified 90cc GoPed Motor. Here is what Mike Taylor, head at RCMax. This is his baby, he’s been working on it for years. A Big Bore motor designer for RC truck, and designed from the bottom up, with no other motor parts used. Here’s what he had to say;
“ Unike Modified GoPed Zenoah’s and CY’s and such, a few use You’re average Big BoreCY460. 90cc Fully Ported Billet Reed Engine with full ignition, Billet Cylinder Head, Billet Pull start, Custom RCMAX Titanium Exhaust System, Full Crazy Stu intake system/w Crazy Stu’s Instake and an UBER RC 3 Stage Fitker, WJ71 Big Bore Racing carb with mods, Complete RCMAX 69mm Clutch system, including bell and billet bell carrier. Plus as mentioned your Engine will come with matching Pinion and Spur gears. All mounting brackets etc are also included to drop straight into a Losi 5ive-T

Our exhaust is designed by Works Tony green. A world famous artist of two stroke pipes.

I don’t think this will EVER try to be duplicated, or one upped. This Is The Ultimate Big Bore Completely custom designed and built for RC Usage. It is expensive, but just reading anout it, sold me! Lol. It’s funny, I was making an order for the full 7075 Pro Am Chassis, and the front and back 7075RC Diff Housings. He jokingly said, you want to add one of my 71cc engines to this order. Funny thing is, when the RCMax 90GT went for pre-order, I contacted mike and was fully paid off for this motor with the Crazy Stu’s Instake, ant Titanium exhaust. Just waiting for Delivery.

Here’s some pics for y’all. I started to work on the truck yesterday. But since the motor so t be here for some weeks, I’m going to take it nice, slow, and thoroughly.
I mounted my Mickey Thompson’s RC4WD Baja MTZ’s, on Dave’s Billet Spoke Whees, with their optional 7075 aluminum outer beadlock rings, and heavy Duty Beadlock Bolts specifically for these wheels. I battled 3 of them last night and the 3rd today. I used regular plastic rings on the inside since they’re rarely seen.
I pulled out my custom table size Rocket 5ive T truck mount. I’d rather sit while working on toys . I got the top 5ive-T Mount, the swicel joint, added a 6” extension, back purge welded to the base plan s. I think I put a shot of the mount with RCMax’s Pro Am Chassis on it. Then one with the Pro Am front and back Difff cases, and the Modified Shock Towers. I’ll try to update every few days. As much time as I can get to wrencft.

I hope you all enjoy!
