What battery is popular , for vekta 5 , I got a lipo 7.4 seems a little tight for receiver n stuff , looking for some more room , hopefully , still waiting on my new rec.

Buy the stock reaction battery that comes stock in the Losi 5ive-T
If arranged properly fits well and avoids binding with the switch, receiver and kill switch.

Dear Relic-1,
I read that Futaba radios and receivers are recommended, but they refuse to list Radios that aren't compatible with the Kraken Vekta5.
I read one post that the wires melt using other type of radios like the Spectrum brand.
I use the Spectrum DX4C Controller,SR415 DSMR receiver, Dynamite DYNE1240 kill switch and the
Reaction battery 15c 2s 7.4v. The only issue I ran into was the Kraken servo plugs needed to be slightly trimmed to plug into the receiver
Runs great and never any wires heating up.
Maybe I just got Lucky.

Well it's the beginning of the beginning , I'm purchasing the vekta 5 very soon , any thing I should purchase at the same time as to , what breaks first ? I'm getting the starter cover , what else wood be a great help , and appreciated ,completely new to this forum , really looking forward to getting familiar with other 5 scale addicts !!? also I have the receiver decision to make, any suggestions would be great .

All futaba radios are supposedly compatible, you are correct the polling rate of the rec to the servos causes issues with the Kraken factory servos with Spektrum.

Does the controller you are using not have the option to reverse any of its channels? If not and you don't want to spend the money on a good controller get a Flysky it is extremely recommended as a budget friendly controller that is kill switch compatible. If you can spend the money get a Futaba 4PV and be done with it. I am glad I made the switch from a junk Spektrum, the fact that you have to guess and hope your fail safe is correct during binding is stupid with Spektrum. All radios should be like Futaba and Sanwa that you set fail safe setting through the menu of the controller so you know for 100% what fail safe is without all the stupidity of binding over and over.

Battery wise I am using a DDM 7.2v 2s Lipo 7000mah with a Killer RC Kill switch a rec in the factory box it is tight however it is all about wire management.

Me and Steve from DDM got the thing figgered out , starting break in procedures ,,, TODAY !!!! AFTER having a vekta 5 as a mantle piece for 5 weeks ! Good thing I got all these little toys to keep me in practice

But Traxxas will soon be a thing of the past, but lots of man cave decor

The beast is alive !! Found out that it's a good warning mechanism , as to where the dog poop is in my yard , did the break-in and now it's on to learning to controller this thing , this is my first 5 scale exscurtion so I'm gonna have to learn all over again , learned a lot by getting it going , ddm is a great help Steve was awesome , factory linkage was messed up , finally got that , the obr video on how to fix a flooded motor was scary but worked perfectly , no problem since ,,,,,RELEASE THE KRAKENS. !!!!

Getting a lot of clutch noise is this normal

DSCN1624.jpgDear Relic-1
Possible loose clutch shoes bolts or check to see if motor is loose.
I am not familiar with the gear box and bell housing as yet.
I have experienced with loose clutch bolts they will lockup the motor.
Good Luck.

Dear Relic-1,
I saved myself a lot of aggravation by investing in the Turtle V2 Pull Start.
No more broken ropes, it looks great, it's a little pricey but in the long run well worth it.

Dear Relic-1,
The lower and upper plastic caps unthread themselves due to vibration.
Unscrew the caps and wrap teflon tape around the threaded shock body this will solve your problem.
This has been a problem from day one.
Watch RC Adventures on you tube, they address this issue.
Best of luck.
