How do you polish your chrome pipes?

Mothers works decently when the instructions are followed.
Pretty Much any auto parts store in the U.S. will have mothers.

If you really wanna go hard core with your polishing you could put a 6 inch buffing wheel on your bench grinder. Apply some buffing compound and hit it.

Steel Wool can also be helpful for removing rust and so on. Steel wool would only be good for chrome not aluminum.

Take a look at that Aluminum Air Nozzle handle. I hit it with the buffing wheel for literally 3 seconds and it made the aluminum have a mirror finish.

If you already have knowledge of polishing materials and what they can be used on and already have these items in you collection then why in the Hell are you asking?

People crack me up sometimes. :)
