I'm looking for a car strictly for on road. XR is the only one I've found that looks decent. I need inputs about this car. Thx.
I have owned a Redcat Rampage XR for years, and can answer ANY question you post on this vehicle. First off, I got it because I'm an on-road guy, primarily, but didn't mind a rally car, an off-road, on-road hybrid. As an on-road car it's cumbersome. Body too heavy, and that makes it slow on a parking lot. As a rally car, it's a shovel: it fills with dirt and grass so easily. The drive-train is problem-prone: set screws need to be anchored by Blue Locktite. If not you'll find yourself going from 4 wheel drive to 3 wheel drive, which will have you spinning out mysteriously. After I bought mine, the engine never started. I had to replace it out of my own pocket with a Zenoah G290rc powerplant. (Guess I was just unlucky.) It's fun on parking lots, but doesn't handle well on off-road terrain. It's not the best fifth-scale chassis out there, but I guarantee it WILL make a 'wrencher' out of you. As I said in the beginning, however, ask me ANY question on the Rampage XR and I'll be able to provide detailed answers. PEACE!

It'll be here Tuesday or sooner. I've lost many many screws from my MT, even with Loctite. It's part of the hobby. Stock up spares.

Has arrived. Strange, I got 2 bodies. Must be a mistake at shipping department. ?

What's the purpose of having an opening under the spur gear? Some of mine do and some don't. Imo, it allows dirt and sand get on top of the chassis and, poss. gears.
