Not seen one apart, but I wonder if it sits between the two bearings. It looks as though there is a bearing on the inner and outer sides of the gear plate. The Bush might sit between them

Don't know [emoji848]
That would make sense as the plastic gear plate is considerably thicker than the alloy one. So would naturally be a bush/spacer.

My super dooper 14 quid each drill bits will arrive this week so hopefully I'll have it apart and let you know!

So I managed some RC time after spending most of the past 5 days in Brussels.

Finally got to the end of "spacer-gate" it goes in-between the two bearings inside the alloy gear plate, bit of a faff but pics will help explain it. @dougstar

Got replacement servo. I know I keep harping on about www.rapid-racing.co.uk but they sent me a Rhino Multiplex HV servo, one of the best on the market as a replacement for a stock RTR servo and offered to refund my postage of sending the faulty one back. Name me another company who'd do that? Credit to them.

Also got my upgraded exhaust fitted, kill switch and finally fitted spoiler to body.

Enough rambling... Onto the pics!!!

Yeah almost there.
I need a couple more items such as some upper arm ball ends for the rear. Current ones have worn and have play which is messing with the camber. Also need to order the rear disc brake kit now i`ve sold the Hydros. Will most likely get them on order next week.

I think i`ve fixed the running issue... hoping its dry enough this weekend to fully test the car.

You thinking of a gathering at CP next month?

It's them fiddly little things that always seem to hold up the projects eh! Like bloody grub screws [emoji23][emoji23]

Supposed to be dry. My issue is fitting around kids and misses ain't seen my misses since last weekend. So she'll wanna do something no doubt.

Ehhhh not sure, I'll see how I can peddle it first. Don't wanna rock upto a track and be completely useless [emoji23]. Could do with some dry weather wheels. Only have wets and drift wheels.

Better than me [emoji23][emoji23]

Out of interest why you get rid of the hydros? I was contemplating a metatech set but seems hassle/fiddly especially for a basher

The only reason I sold them on was because the SWB (465mm) chassis is so short, there was almost no room to mount the master cylinders. I could have mounted them behind the front bulkhead, but it was still a little cramped. It meant it couldn`t get the servo to throw far enough to get them to work effectively.

Having also sourced a fairly rare Comp chassis, i didn`t want to start drilling holes in it to mount them either. Not so much a problem on the standard plate chassis.

Ive always found the cable disc brakes to be really effective and easy to set up. Just my preference, especially for a car that is only for general running. The Hydraulics will always work better though.
If i had the 535 or the 510, id have stuck with them. I think the brake kit kit for yours is a straightforward install.

Fair enough..... now you have me thinking. I have a 510, which would be easier you say. Ain't even fired the damn thing up and contemplating spending a chunk more on it!

Was looking for bodies last night, selection is a bit sparse for 510 though.

MCD did 510mm rally bodies that will fit.

i believe KCR still have the SEAT LEON CUPRA while RC Multistore on ebay.de still have a Subaru Impreza body kit which comes with wing, decals and the body.

Both are 510mm

I spoke to Lawrence who is part of the refurbishment team on FB yesterday. 40 quid a year membership for palace. Cheap I thought.

Not sure I have the skills to be on track at moment tbh especially in "drift" mode [emoji23]

Need a few car park days to get eye in.

That was great thing about having Baja's/5fives in past so many places to use them locally to me

When you decide to start going to palace I'll be there I haven't driven the track yet either so at least I wont be the only bad driver there [emoji1787]but as for carpark days what car parks do you normally use ? I know theres one at caterham valley or two Morrison's and the one bu the train station then you got tesco at caterham in the hill

I will try. It's hard with kids. In the summer months they can stay in park with misses while I go track.... Least that's how it's playing out in my mind[emoji23]

Not even started the fg yet mate. It's all ready to go now. I live close to the train station. The multistory car park fpr Morrisons is usually always busy although top floor is lit and might not be that busy Sunday after 4.

Wanna run mine in weekend if weather permits. So if your about mate
