Hello friends I recently unboxed the 5T for my sons they love it just ran 2 full tanks of fuel/Klotz thru it and got it broke in nice and easy on the third tank we opened it up full speed totally impressed

My first and only issue so far is the grass that was getting caught up in the engine and t case area was getting hot and crispy to the point I had to clean it off with the air compressor about every 30 min worth of drive time

Is there a "sock" style cover that can prevent some of this or do you guys have any better solution

Second my OCD can't help but be concerned about gnarly scratches on the underside what guards or skid plates are tough and protect best

Thanks in advance Mike

I just checked out the outer wears good looking stuff .....
So the flywheel application goes under the cover then the cover surely goes back on correct ?

Unless any other brands out there I will seriously keep this in my parts to add to my mod

Ok since this is the engine forum what brand pipe will give the cleanest it most exhaust out the body i am all for performance pipes as the sons race motocross but on this Losi I want the two stroke residue out the back or out the body without spraying the insides down with the afterburn

We usually run Klotz exclusively unless its unobtainable then our second choice is maxima 927

Olimat, Victory or Bartolone, all good choices for pipes ?

Good on ye, and I'll leave it at that. don't need another oil debate. And most pipes wont splooge all over your body. Bart, vrc olimat.

Get a body bib from outerwear. Goes under the body and velcro to the frame walls

The 1st thing you should get is a kill switch if you don't have 1 yet. Runaway 1/5 scale is a dangerous thing. Then outerwears.

Outerwears is the way to go once I put the pull start cover on there was no more grass being blended and being burned. Since the engine has to come out for the case cover id do it all at once since it's easier to install the pull start cover with engine out. Also make sure to double knot the end of the pullstart cord so it doesn't pull through the handle or you'll be pulling the engine out again and again if you don't get it right the first time.

Check out full force rc as they have shock socks and it will keep your shocks from getting packed with stuff. Plus it keeps the threads clean for easier adjusting

+1 for the killswitch its easy to install and setup. Id hate to see all this effort go into the truck and it either gets demolished or seriously hurts someone.
