Knocking around the forums and found this. I am in the same boat, sadly. What's the best remedy?

I 2nd that. I had the first batch of the 5t 2.0 with the original reciever that started the push to the sr515 with horizon and ill tell you this you don't want to go out of range with the rig with no killswitch. Here's a video that will demonstrate what can happen

Thanks to Niz55 and Rep732 for telling me what I DID NOT want to hear, but needed to. The new receiver is on order. That brings me to a new noob question: How is the factory receiver mounted in it's place? There's no visible screws or hex nuts holding it in. Any advice on removing the 6200a? Pry it out? Please let me know.

No problem, rc isn't cheap so protect the investment and protect yourself from lawsuits.

The reciever is easy to remove it should be in a foam square just pull up on it. make sure you hook up the connections right and the brown wires on spektrum is the grounds so just keep the in mind, you won't burn up anything on the servos they just won't work. I use velcro or the hook and loop stuff from any big box store

Turns out that the receiver had no foam surround and was fastened down with double tick tape. I have to gently pry it out with a allen key. I'll likely re-use the tape since it it didn't seem to damage it. Thanks to all!!

I wonder if I can get away with running it to get the engine break in done. Got any thoughts or precautions on doing that?
For break in, just take wheels off. (assuming you mean break the engine in). It's what I have done, not that these engines need much break-in. But I plan on tearing mine down, after 2 tanks. Just to see where wear is happening most (and port-polish, as needed) Granted, I use to do this for a living. (was lead mechanic at Blockbuster Golf & Games, as well at Burkhardts John Deere tractor, (as well meh you get the point).
At BB Golf and games, they used honda engines (about 12 that ran for 24/7 30 engines total) for their bumber boats, also a small (to me) but full size tractor(s) To pick-up the golf balls. Since they ran those hondas 24/7, I would rebuild one a day (for most of the time) And repair tractors (granted deisel) as needed. etc...
