I followed all cold start instructions. However, there is one thing I am noticing. I'm not sure if it matters, but when I leave choke on and try to prime engine with the first few pulls, no gas leaves the primer bulb. When turning choke on and trying to start again, nothing happens. I decided to check the spark plug and cylinder, and sure enough, no gas, spark plug totally, dry, nothing in the cylinder. Replaced plug, tried to start again, gives a little burp and a nice stench of gas, but then nothing after about 10 more tries. I think I've isolated the issue to no fuel in the cylinder, battery is on and everything, but not sure what to do. Any ideas? Thank you

Have you checked that the needles are in stock settings?

Is it new?

Obvious but there is fuel in the tank?

Plugged fuel filter?

Kinked fuel through the rubber grommet?
Any high flow fuel kit is a good investment.

Mixed up the supply and return lines? Black should be on the bottom.

I’m not confident it’s the carb.

Intake/gaskets, carbs not tight. Cylinder head is loose, the purge bulb has check valves in it. Not seeing fuel dissappear out if it is normal. It's just there to purge the carb of trapped air.
Check the afore mentioned. As an easy test to see if it will fire squirter some fuel does the throat of the carb and see of she spits off for a bit.

Just wanted to share that I had problems starting my DBXL 2.0 when it was new. The problem was eventually narrowed down to a weak ignition coil. The carb was fine. The ignition coil was changed and the engine started very easily and consistently after that. I compared the spark length of both the old and new ignition coils with a spark tester and the spark length of the old coil was about half of that of the new coil. The coil gap was correctly set using a zenoah thickness gauge. Therefore, with the old coil, the spark was so weak that it was most likely extinguished by the fuel/air mixture in the combustion chamber. With the new coil, the engine starts and runs like it should, even when the carb is running rich. No flooding issue because the engine starts up very easily.
