Cheaper than nitro the canned fuel is.I think the e-free fuel is just as important as using a good oil. My favorite flavor of oil is listed above and mixed with canned fuel like jeepfreak mentioned. No e-free off the pump in our state so canned is my only option. A little expensive but to me just part of the price we pay to have fun.
That’s for sure. The runtime is a hell of a lot longer than nitro as well so that’s a win-winCheaper than nitro the canned fuel is.
The run times are excellent for sure. Ive never ran a tank out before getting bored if by myself. I gotta build another track and get some of my old rc crew out here. More dirt road course with small bumps vs the full on motocross track I had before. We were fixing broken cars every week because we were too dumb to slow down or change the track. That’s for sure. The runtime is a hell of a lot longer than nitro as well so that’s a win-win
I don’t mind paying a little extra for it for the fun I get out of it.
what works the best for oil?I'm not going to tell you a "best" because there really isn't a best. Just certain ones stand above others in my own testing and experience. Other will have their own experiences to share I'm sure.
Any of these will work well...
Amsoil Dominator
Honda HP2
Echo Red armor
Amsoil Saber
Motul 800 off-road
Motul 710
Maxima K2
Maxima Super M
Maxima Castor 927
I have never ran this last one but many have and like it. I'll get around to testing it one day.
As to fuel, use ethanol free fuel from a pump with a separate hose for said ethanol free. Also called Rec fuel, short for recreational fuel. If thats not available, buy 4 stroke canned fuel such as Trufuel, VP racing 94 octane small engine fuel or Sunoco Optima 95 small engine fuel.
Thats how I can take my focus off the little irritations of big gas rc....get a nitro again. That’s for sure. The runtime is a hell of a lot longer than nitro as well so that’s a win-win
I don’t mind paying a little extra for it for the fun I get out of it.
100LL is only "low lead" vs normal av gas. 100LL contains roughly 8 times more lead then automotive gas did before it was discontinued.VP C12 is leaded and recommended by Taylor RC on their big blocks, right? I grew up in the 70's/80's when lots of ICE engines were running it and didn't make me that much more stoopid tahn the kids tooday that haven't bean around it?(spelling intended for humor!)
