I bought my 5b used and have no regrets. Mine was purchased from a member of the sister forum http://www.rcnitrotalk.com/forum/. Buying on a forum can save some headaches. Look at the sellers trader feedback and that will help. I don't think I'd have a problem buying at either of these forums...

I guess I'm lucky with my local hobby shop. they have people that actually know about RC cars and planes. These guys are friendly and try to help the customer. Best of all they carry large scale models and sell them almost as fast as they can get them in. They originally carried The HPI Baja 5b...

It's nice to know that they will fix the pipe, but it would have been nice if they had made it look like new by cutting it above the break and neatly welding the header to the pipe as Killermolly said. The quality of the weld has me questioning whether I want to get a Jetpro pipe......

That's just not true about Mexican Food. I live in Texas and we get Mexican Food as good as anywhere in the Southwest. You might also want to look at Kansas City, Missouri.

I've been looking at this forum for a while and finally broke down and purchased a slightly used Baja 5b. I expect it to be arriving at its new home in about a week. It's bone-stock so there is plenty of room for improvement. What are some things I should plan on upgrading now?

That sounds like some mal-ware. Try running the current malicious software removal tool available ant Microsoft.com. Are you running any firewall or anti-virus software?
