    Shroud for reed engines?

my fg was also on the heavy side as that was also full alloy, not quite as heavy as my dibby is now as the FG is 1/6 scale, but it wasn't far off & the engine was only a stock 29cc, around the same time I had my FG we had a 1/5 track where a lot of us met up regular, a few other guys had 4WDs...

hi again guys, ty for suggestions :) yeh my CV's etc are all in excellent condition, one thing i do is keep well on top of maintenance with my RC's! ..if anything i have OCD when it comes to maintaining them! lol I looked up on what diff fluid to use & read that 500k centre & then 100k...

Taylor 35 V2 Reed LOSI DBXL 2.0 Install

No idea whatelse it can be, drive train is all running smoothly, although what i did notice is when i fit the center diff locker and removed the front shafts, the drive train now seems much more loose and easy to turn, could it be that the 500k diff oil in centet diff was too thick for it? The...

    Shroud for reed engines?

My fg is 2wd with a much less powerful engine, on the ground its double the fun of my dibby, low end it leaves the dibby for dust! 4wd is more point and go, thats not for me when bashing etc, But converted my dibby to 2wd now.

    Shroud for reed engines?

ok quick update! ive fit the locker, had to use a couple of shims inside the locker as the output yolk had a little too much play for my liking, but couple of shims later, nice a snug & feels solid, i also done away with the stock bolts that it came with and used some slightly longer ones so I...

    Shroud for reed engines?

i was wrong (edited my post) as aelliott70 pointed out a place called SRE customs do them ^^ but ive spent enough now i think on this dibby lol, will see how the conversion goes, failing that, strip it down rebuild stock, sell it & get a 2WD model & start all over! ^^

    Shroud for reed engines?

afaik a 40cc+ will not fit onto a dbxl 2.0 chassis? i think 35cc is the biggest engine that will fit. (just re-read your post!). to be honest I'm set now on converting to 2WD and see how it goes, I'm hoping that will solve this issue, failing that, I will more than likely sell up the dibby & go...

Taylor 35 V2 Reed LOSI DBXL 2.0 Install

Don't know off the top of my head the exact weight, but I can say its definitely a LOT heavier than stock..if its not double, then its very near and that is one of the reasons why power is an issue as well as being 4WD, will soon find out anyhow as I'm converting to 2WD over next day or 2, so...

Taylor 35 V2 Reed LOSI DBXL 2.0 Install

ok so time for an update regarding this engine! (PS, I also posted this in response to question on another thread, but posting here also as it's relevant to this thread!) Sooo... now that the "oooh" factor has worn off, do I still think that the Taylor 35 V2 Reed is worth the extra £££...

    DBXL 2.0 Converting to 2WD?

yeh was wondering what to throw in the rear diff, at present it has 100k so i may leave that in for now just to see how it is, i had 100k front & rear and had 500k canter, obv the canter & front diff is no more!! :)

    Shroud for reed engines?

hi buddy! yup I'm selling the olimat. After trying both, the Bart is better suited for my DBXL 2.0 build. The Olimat is the unsilenced end bleed pipe, its loud (but a nice loud!) sounds more like a 2-stroke crosser than an RC :D But with my dibby being very heavy, (probably almost twice the...

    DBXL 2.0 Converting to 2WD?

the 2.0 has same size pins/shafts as the 5T, its one of things that was beefed up in the 2.0 afaik? :) I've ordered that diff locker! ..so will fit that and see how it goes like you say and take it from there! Just wondering, my FG has an adj. diff which can be set to full lock, which is what...

    DBXL 2.0 Converting to 2WD?

Cool thanks buddy! Whats a good hopup for rear drive train? I know vitavon do the cvd but what about the drive shafts? For now i will test it with just diff locker etc but in future i will prob upgrade the drive train especially if it has issues going 2wd.

    DBXL 2.0 Converting to 2WD?

yeh I see what your saying, guess time will tell... will give it a go and see how it goes! Worse scenario, I will need to beef up my shafts if they end up breaking, I had planned to swap to Vitavon anyway, but not unless I need to as they aint cheap lol. i was thinking this but then if I do it...

    DBXL 2.0 Converting to 2WD?

thanks for info guys ;) main reason why I want to convert is like I say above, I've always had 2WD, this dibby is my first 4WD largescale as I wanted to try it, I'm a basher not a racer so for me 2WD is much more fun. the other reason, is as some of you know, my dibby has been struggling with...

    DBXL 2.0 Converting to 2WD?

    DBXL 2.0 Converting to 2WD?

hi guys, what's the best method to converting my dibby 2.0 to rear wheel drive only? I much prefer 2WD but also like the dibby and don't want to shell out for another RC after al the time/effort I've put into this dibby! so looking for a good solution, I was thinking removing the front...
