here's another Marder I just finsihed last night, its my friend's brand new one that I built up and stickered up for him.

which tyres? if you mean the on-road ones then I've hardly used them so I cant realy compare them to a set of FG slicks, I put it back to off road as I don't have a decent place to run it on-road anymore so its back to the dirt and fields for me.

Nice one! I'll give that a go. By the way, would it work ok if the rims have tyres on them? I got 2 sets to do but one has the tyres on, I'm guessing the dye wont affect the black tyre rubber?

I know this can be done with some types of smaller scale RC wheels/rims but has anyone done this with FG wheels? Marder ones in particular?

Not really, I have 2 MT's and fancied doing something different seeing as I'm about to rebuild the engine for one of them... I 've seen a pic somewhere of a stadium beetle and it looked awesome. I'm sort of going off the idea now a little... so it may just be 29cc and a dominator.. :)

Just toying with the idea of making a Stadium Beetle... not sure yet....

I'm guessing the FG Stadium truck has a slightly higher gearing than the MT due to the smaller wheels, can someone confirm this and tell me what it is?

I put it all back together and took it for a blast for 20 mins and it worked fine, then took it apart again to check the clutch and it seems to be alright now, might have been something caught between the shoulder bolt/washers and clutch shoes making them tight. Thanks to everyone for the...

yep I got a normal washer on the "back" of the shoes and the spring bevel washer at the "front". The clutch didnt engage until I revved the nuts off the engine then when it did it wouldnt disengage when i shut the thing off. All I can think is that if you need to tighten them as tight as...

Thanks for those, they'll come in handy. Trouble is the clutch shoes pivot on the bolts, so if they're too tight then it will restrict them throwing out as they should, and in my case they were so tight that they stayed open, not even the spring could pull them back together.

I'm just fitting some new standard clutch shoes to my MT, first time round I over tightened them so it took a hell of a lot of revs for them to engage then they stuck open :nono: Good job I had the car againt a wall or it could have been interesting! Anyway I've stripped it back down and was...
