DBXL New Model on pre Orders

Surprised nobody mentioned the biggest upgrade, the Zenoah G320 obviously which I hear people constantly female dog about the 1st DBXL being slow. Other than that, not much different if you've already got a upgraded rig. From the standard DBXL, there are quite a few durability upgrades. I've already...

    shock question

I think that's for a 5ive, not DBXL. Here's what you're looking for https://www.ebay.com/itm/232503630106 I see this kit on ebay all the time.

    rim choice for 5b

Interesting.. I've been running the Rovan/KM desperado clones for a few years now along with the original Proline Desperados and haven't really noticed any difference between them except the Prolines have less offset compared to the Rovan's. Both have held up the same to both tarmac and off road...

So what's these km Baja's like then boys

Although this question has been asked to death, I feel like the majority of responses are from HPI fanboys and not from people who have actually owned KM or Rovan. As someone who has owned both KM and HPI, I can tell you there are very little differences between them. The original HPI wasn't the...

Post your 5T/5B custom paint jobs here

It's painted using Honda CRV Anvil factory paint. The 30N bodies are a MAJOR pita to paint though. It's rough oily surface makes it really difficult. The fact that the body is flexible means the paint will peel easily if you get into a crash. This is the main reason people usually choose to go...

Post your 5T/5B custom paint jobs here

Here's mine. The black body isn't really a paint job. Just the standard black 30 North body with Losi decals/liveries. Second gray body is a clear 30 North body w/ a silver painted cage and Honda Gray Anvil coloured body paint.

    Baja front hubs

Please don't. I bent a pair of Integy hubs on my 5ive from doing 8" jumps on a grass field. I could literally bend the arms back to shape with my fingers. Integy looks pretty, but they're honestly weaker than the cheapest alloy hubs out there. Integy is good for maybe a 1/10 scale touring car...

    Baja front hubs

I had King Motor alloy hubs on my previous Baja and they took an absolute beating. I rolled it, cartwheeled it, crashed into dirt and even a couple concrete walls. I've broken the A arms, steering rods, steering servo, even bent the alloy servo saver assembly from crashes, but the hubs never...

    Weak parts bending

Prices aren't too far off from the FID stuff I bought. If I bend them again, I'll give those other brands a try. The HPI baja so far has taken the most beating without breaking anything. Probably lighter and fewer parts since RWD. On the DBXL I've bent an upgraded tie rod end and deformed a...

    Weak parts bending

Hey guys, so I've been running my Losi 5ive with very moderate bashing. I haven't flipped it even once yet or crashed into anything. I did very mild jumps on grass only. However, I seem to be bending/breaking parts. I've bent a crappy Integy Aluminum front steering hub. Fair enough, it's Integy...

    Dbxl problems

To each their own. The cheap parts got me into 1/5 scales, and I built my HPI Baja, DBXL and 5ive from bits. It cost me a lot less in the long run and I had fun learning and building everything myself. Sure, some clone parts were crap, but I saved lot of money in the long run with the cheaper...

    Dbxl problems

No reason why you can't own and run 1/5 scale without dropping several k on it. People tend to be very defensive when it comes to their hobbies, and why not? You spent a lot of money on it. But to suggest that something is crap just because it didn't meet your standards is just silly. China...

    Dbxl problems

Fair point. I'm not sure where the OP is from but for me shipping a 30.5cc KM motor from Aliexpress would cost me about $170USD shipped to my door. Whereas a Zenoah G290 from DDM would cost me about $345USD (taxes, duties and freight) to Canada. That's more than double the price. I'm not...

    5ive-5 springs too soft?

Now it just looks cool on my shelf with all it's shiny aluminum bling.

    Dbxl problems

Check that you did not reverse the intake and return fuel lines. I've done this on more occasions than I can remember and it would cause the symptoms you are mentioning as well. Since the return line is shorter, if you reversed them it would cause the tank to gobble up the fuel on the upper...

    5ive-5 springs too soft?

I received the DDM HD springs (stiffest ones) and they work great! With almost 0 preload on the spring collar they sit about perfectly level. I did mild jumps over the weekend and never bottomed out once. I just ordered some 40wt oil to complete the setup, but definitely not too stiff. After...

    RcJunkie Baja 5b

I guess you're asking for what other upgrades you should do? A kill switch is always priority #1 when it comes to any gas powered RC. I don't even feel 100% safe even with a kill switch, I have no idea how people can run without one. It should be illegal! The 3 most important upgrades for me...

Need help identifying this 5ive pipe

Perfect, that's the exact pipe. Looks like most of the retailers are in the UK/AUS but they're all out of stock. Nice to know it sells for $330. I think it might be hard to get parts for this pipe. Hmm.. looks like it uses a silicon coupler as well. Thanks for IDing the pipe for me.

Need help identifying this 5ive pipe

It does look like a VRC, but they don't have that funky bracket with the dampers. Since my pipe came with a thick nice quality carbon Fiber bracket, I'm assuming the pipe is something quite decent. It looks like it doesn't make use of a silicon coupler to join the manifold and pipe together, but...

Need help identifying this 5ive pipe

I got this mystery pipe from a buddy and it's missing hardware. I haven't been able to source all of them. It came with a carbon fiber mounting plate that goes on the shock tower and attaches to the pipe using rubber dampers. However, the rubber damper mounts are missing for the mount. I tried...
