My first proper RC car was a Tamiya Monster Beetle, which I still have to this day. Had a few cheaper starter cars beforehand when I was younger, but come 1986 a Tamiya box arrived with the iconic looking red VW monster inside - absolutely love it!

Yeah I was gutted when I found out I had to change them to the kits plastic mounts, they're slightly taller than the ali mounts I'd bought for when the MB was 2WD. As you say though James, they're a worthy upgrade! Wonder if there's an ali mount kit for the 4WD cars/4WD conversion kits??

To be honest, I've used my largescales in all weathers over the years, so long as the electrics are well protected from anything wet, I've not shown any worry for anything else really. Then I make sure it's thoroughly clean after use.

The ali engine mounts are the only mod you've done in that area is it Fred?

Just try them and see, work through eliminating any changes which could have caused the sudden seizure in the drive.

Yeah it comes with a Lipo, altogether I think it's a nicer unit than the 3b, foam wheel too, lighter.

I use the FS GT3C, the kill switch on my largescales work perfect on the ch3 button

Welcome to the forum, not so sure about shock setup on a Baja 5b, I fitted front and rear anti role bars to my 5b and it certainly changed how the car behaves on tarmac. Very direct on the steering now.
