Tuned Pipe, Melted Roll Cage, Loose Screws

changing the spring does help with some of the bottom end lag, but its no replacement for an adjustable clutch. i bought the lauterbacher 4 shoe off road adjustable clutch, located here http://www.davesmotors.com/store/product2332.html . expensive i know compared to the 13 dollar spring but i...

    Pull start problems

adjusting the needles on the carb is usually a last resort. more times than not a engine fails to start because of something simple. try starting without the airfilter. ive had a filter come from the factory with too much oil in it and it was choking off the air to the engine.

    Pull start problems

figure out the reason why the engine didnt start after just a few pulls. an engine thats running the way it should will start with just a few pulls. if you need to pull anymore than say 5 times then there is something wrong. usually a bad glow plug, discharged glow ignitor, improperly primed...

    Pull start problems

that sure does look like an os .18cv-rx pull start to me. check the measurements on yours compared to this one. its at the bottom of the page. check the size of the oneway clutch compared to yours to make sure they match. if not then i guess youll need to try and get yours reassembled...

    Pull start problems

i was mistaken on the placement of the spring but it does keep pressure on the metal coil when starting the engine. Actually most engines do not have this design. its usually the cheaper models that use this design. its not flawed and works fine but you must make sure you get all the parts back...

    Pull start problems

I cannot remember what brand of engine has the tiny spring he is speaking of, but i think its ofna or losi. Its in the center of the crank shaft and it presses on the center of the pull start rope wheel. i think to keep pressure on the flat wound metal coil. they sometimes make the hex in the...

there is the other problem with nitros and electrics, resale is horrible. You will more times than not, only get back just under half what you paid for it even if its still brand new. There are 1/5th scale models wore smooth out going for well over half of the new cost on ebay right now.

im gonna get the Elcon 4 shoe clutch for both of my RC's when they are no longer in such high demand. The adjustability and 4 guided shoe design is killer. i wanna see how crazy the truck and buggy get when the clutch locks in at 10,000 rpm.

The TGN FG truck pipe does fit, but you have the same issues as with the Jetpro. there isnt much in the way of aftermarket exhaust systems that will bolt on and not touch anything or require any mods, even the x can doesn't fit without mods. unless up find one that shoots exhaust straight up.

Low Cost cars hitting the web

i thought for sure i posted the answer but i guess i hit the wrong button. A good but temporary fix for the wheel nuts, is to use an all metal lock nut. or find a standard nut that fits and either squeeze it in a vice, or hit it one of the flat surfaces with a hammer. What you want to do is...

Low Cost cars hitting the web

the only way i know to fix the wheel nut problem for good is to have a shaft custom made with left hand threads, so that when the wheel spins the nut will tighten instead of loosen. The second solution while not as perminate is to buy a metal lock nut A.K.A Mechanical lock nut. its actually...

Low Cost cars hitting the web

There arent very many FG parts that are a direct fit to the FH or SMT vehicles. While they look the same they are completely different. The DDM Torque pipe is a good pipe its explosive off the line but falls flat on the top end. If you want a ton of acceleration and don't care how fast the...

i got my hands on a digital camera and shot a video of the buggy and the truck. Something happend during the upload of both videos that put the Audio out of synch with the Video. The sound is playing about 1.5 seconds ahead of the video. I don't know how to fix it. but both the truck and buggy...

Tuned Pipe, Melted Roll Cage, Loose Screws

P.S. i haven't seen a vise that will grip a bolt good enough to remove it from a peice of metal. i new set of visegrip plyers or stud extractor plyers are probably the only things that will bite good enough to remove it. channel locks may do it but i doubt it.

Tuned Pipe, Melted Roll Cage, Loose Screws

did you use thread locker on that screw? I never ever use thread locker on anything going into aluminum i would rather replace the bolt than the aluminum part or go through the trouble of heating anything to remove it. your bolt is probably flush type screw where it doesn't have much of a...

Tuned Pipe, Melted Roll Cage, Loose Screws

by stripped you mean the inside of the screw head or the threaded end is stripped. Most of the time an allen head screw is tougher than the tool and it will round the corners off the tool instead of rounding the inside of the screw head. I usually have to take a dremel or grinder wheel to my...
