Nice video, you may want to consider bending the "skid bars" or whatever you call them. It didn't look like the bike was able to lean very far without rubbing the skid bars. With the bars bent upward a little you will be able to turn much sharper....but if you go too much the bike won't be able...

Nice looking bike. So how did your first drive go? To me the most important part is the steering set up and having a big smooth parking lot to practice in. Once you get the hang of how far to lean it in the turns they are a blast.

Make sure it's not bogging from being too lean, it never hurts to start out a little rich. These engines will often bog when lean.

I am amazed at how well the Elcon clutches have been working and holding up in my Baja's. I run them in sand alot and the stock clutches didn't last long at all, the Elcons are great. From other user reports the Lauterbacher seems to work well also.

It's hard to say because the GBE is on the reed case motor and the DOM is on the piston port. Both motors ran strong, you can't go wrong with the DOM

What a great thread, it's amazing that you got it back...congrats! We used to run boats and always took a small fishing boat with a trolling motor, no matter how good you tune it you need to go after them quite often when they flip over or die.

Speedy- No vids, the Mamba wasn't bad but needs a smaller pinion gear. It's a small bend, not too bad. Tim- I was thinking the same thing as I was building it, it was one of those "use the parts I already have" projects.

I ran it! It's kind of top heavy, I guess like all 3 wheelers it needs a movable rider on it to shift some weight around. It was fun until I started running it harder and bent the rear axle!!

blobby575- The Ricky Carmicheal bikes were sold through Radio Shack stores but have been discontinued for about a year or so now. Your best way to get one is on E-bay.

I used to use onlinemetals, but now I mainly use this place here http://www.alro.com/ I usually order drops to avoid the saw cut fees.

I thought you were just testing out the new upside down shock mod :) Funny thing is, I didn't even notice it the first time.

I use 6061-T6 for all my parts.

I wonder if you flip them over and re-install them if they will be closed? Might be worth a try.
