Ok, next adventure...as I had visited a awesome track that offers 1/8 and1/10 buggy and truggy racing and 15 dollars all day to run, practice including x-maxxs ....I am looking into a rtr buggy, probably a losi . Anyone into this with suggestions much appreciated. Seems like the track had lots of arma?? Buggy running. My main thoughts are parts available and reliable buggy. Thank you everyone!!!! Not really interested in kits, would prefer rtr.

I was just looking for a buggy to replace one of mine that has seen better days.. I do not race competitive so i wasn't looking for a full blown race buggy, but i do run with a few friends pretty aggressively so to speak..lol
I did some research and watched a bunch of YouTube videos comparing the losi with the tlr tuned typhoon. Parts for the arrma are actually cheaper then the losi and seem to be more in stock at amain.
So i made my choice and went to order the TLR Tuned Arrma 6s Typhon, and wouldn't you know it "out of stock"..ugh..Couldn't find one local, next Horizon Hobby shipment said june or july.
So i looked again and decided to go with the Arrma TLR Tuned Typhon Roller. Now i can add my own oversized motor and esc and not have another transmitter on the shelf i probably will never use.
I know you said you didn't want a kit but this took me probably 20 min to put together and for about the same price as the losi or the rtr
Arrma.
Or better yet get a buggy and another 5t..lol

Flh003, the kit was what the owner suggested. They had a ton of I believe pro tech stuff.... That was also what the owner Jeff was running if I remember. I am very intrigued by what I saw. Usually on my own when enjoying our hobby....Sure would be nice to be involved with other's, but at same time a bit introverted....Also having granddaughter living with us now has really stretched our schedule. Much to think about and will probably visit Browns hobby again before final decision. Thank you everyone........and yea, probably get em both!!!!!!!

Interesting LOL
Now I know why I haven't heard from you. Too busy playing. Well, that is good to see.

Looks a little muddy.

So I went with truggy. Heading out for 1st run. Checked everything for tightness and fluids, all good. Ran 3 layers clear gorilla tape down center and one per side...cheap, easy and easily replaced for maintenance!!!! Well, very pleased with this truggy. Handles amazing and with some tuning only going to be better. Tires have zero traction on grass but this is meant for clay or hard dirt. OK on asphalt. 15 to 20 minutes with 5000 100c pack.Got 2 spectrum smart packs ,4s, just to keep it simple. Forget sometimes how fun smaller scales are!!!!! Not a basher ,but shows lot of potential in the right environment. Definitely wants to fly!!!! Very quick as far as speed too. Looking foward to some track time with it.

Nice..you definitely cant go wrong with a truggy..i have a couple that are nitro and I have blast with them..good luck with it 👍

So....... enjoying the truggy very much, haven't had time to head back to try on track yet. Played with some settings to get it handling better, droop, front toe and reset servo arm to better center steering....could definitely use a finer tooth servo and arm but good enough that barely had to use radio to help center. Here's the big question, tires.....I'm sure the pin type is great for track but zero traction in grass yet OK on asphalt. I run around yard and into large parking lot as my "track". Any tips on tires....arma forum doesn't have much other than udr tires but that means 4 rims and tires because no chance udr rims fit, did a quick check because I have udr. Hoping for straight bolt on , any suggestions much appreciated, thank you everyone!!!

How about the 3.8" pro line badlands? A buddy of mine use to run them on his losi nitro truggy but unfortunately i don't remember what size they were. I run the pins on my nitro truggys and the badlands on my electric buggy.

For a solid 1/8 scale RTR buggy, top picks include the Arrma Typhon 6S BLX, known for its extreme speed (70+ mph) and durability—ideal for bashing; the Losi 8IGHT-XE RTR, which offers race-level performance with a Spektrum brushless system and tunable suspension

Not a lot of choices for us nitro guys. I was able to find a Losi 8ight on ebay that was new old stock. Had it long enough to get it broken in at the local parking lot. Hasn't seen dirt yet but it will. Seems like it should be a fun ride.
