I have a Losi 5ive T, an FG 4wd sportsline, a Vekta.5 v1 (still needs built) and a little losi 6ix.....so I have plenty.
But I was really wanting an HPI 5b (yes, I’m an addict, just like you guys...lol)....no where to be found......so....
After a bit of reading, and taking in consideration everyone’s opinions about manufacturers etc etc....and thank you all
For your forum posts......I decided to get....the Rovan 36cc buggy.....
I’m not to worried about all the aluminum, as sandy beach does not break parts.....not that I’ve experienced.....so
With the pricing right....I pulled the trigger.....I’m excited.....now all I have to figure out is wether or not to sell my on-road
vehicles.....being an addict sucks if there isn’t any safe space with a decent surface for them to run on....dumb a$$ me
Didn’t consider that when I got those.....lol
I’m a mile from the sand dunes....so it makes sense to off load the on-roads even though I don’t want to....
Best of luck to me....just wanted to share with ya’ll, cause all the reading I did really helped in my decision....so thank you all. ?

Will do hyperdad.....buggy should arrive tomorrow....so after break in.....I’ll post some pics and status report...lol
Gonna take the 5ive out today and abuse it....lol

Kraken Vekta.5 Ultra Unlimited Class 1500 Buggy ARTR w/ Zenoah G320RC 31.8cc Engine w/FREE Dominator Tuned Pipe! - KV7702, i'm thinking about getting this next any thoughts??

Hi 12 Bravo.....I don’t think you could go wrong with the vekta....it’s all a matter of preference. Personally I like the vekta....so I say go for it.....particularly if you’re already familiar to RC’s.....it’s just that different and cool looking of a vehicle. ?

It looks really nice. Have you gotten sand scoops for it yet or can you drive with the standard tires in the sand without blowing out an engine?

Hi Thrasher, yes I had paddle tires already knowing the beach/sand dunes is the environment most accessible and convenient for my bashing sessions....

Rovan updates will be a little delayed....as I am rebuilding the 5ive after this weekends bash session....it needed it and I got to be ready for the 4th of July.....got her broke down....and finished the front diff.....adding DGI aluminum housings, new springs/skins....waiting on my stars n stripes wrap to put on new 30degree body....and I need to put the last 2 set of dune rippers on DDM billet rims for the Rovan.....my laboratory if you will....lol

To all.... Ok I'm officially jealous! :p

Hyperdad.
With any luck, I should be able to fire up the Rovan this weekend to start the break in.....a couple of things I did notice while looking it over and drooling.....was it seems like the space tolerances between some of the working parts is very tight....it has lots of body clips and fasteners instead of screws or bolts.....and I do not care for the cut n bend of the canopy posts.....oh and the throttle link needs to be straightened out....bends a little and rubs the plastic motor cover.....other than that all appears to be ok.....I might look into nylon spacers and ball joints and apply where possible.....as metal rubbing metal just ain’t gonna get it done....lol
