Just been flicking through Ebay and tripped across a number of two speed 2wd FG gearboxes.

Silly noob question, how do you change gear?

Oh and are they worth the outlay and trouble?

Cheers

I answered this question in one of my other posts.
I even said which kit exactly, you'll need for a marder.
It depends on what you want to do.
To some a 2spd is essentially worthless on a buggy.
Constant jumping, bouncing around traction and loading unloading of the tires and drivetrain is going to makes it hard to maintain being/staying in the the right gear. So it's kinda impractical.Short twisty tracks won't be fun either, with a lot of speed changes.
If your going to mainly drive it as a road car,it's more feasible.
In a road car your not facing the same challenges. Your generally on smooth roads with contact of tires having consistent surface/grip(You know what I mean).

Shift point are set by you. This is also where people have issues setting up.
On top of that you'll need enough room to kick into 2nd gear. You may find out depending on where you run, there's not enough room to get up to speed - depending on gearset chosen.
Maintenance is very important also.

My 2cents: Get your vehicle working well first, then if you want to experiment, have at it.
But remember what I said about use cases.
For most, the complications and money spent aren't worth it.
The KISS protocol is in effect here.?
I'll get one eventually, but thats just me as like to try everything.

In my last post below,I specify what pn# is needed for a marder 2spd.
