Hi guys,

I'm looking for a good of quality pull start every time i pull on my easy pull start i break something some how I pull it calmly like every body says. i'm looking for a good qualty one that less me longer then 10 pulls or so i don't want a eletric starter because i don't got the budget for it it has to be a pull starter but in qualty better then the cheap plastic easy pull starter.

When it comes to the easy starter, assuming that is a rovan part, the one with the plastic internals will outlast the one with the cast alloy internals. I have experience with both actually. The one with metal parts has an anti-seize grease loaded up around the center screw and washer. Eventually that screw will back out and everything goes to crap in no time. I am not fond of winding springs and have rebuilt the metal one several times until it became useless.

This is the one that was more of a headache to use: https://www.rovanrc.com/product-rv85277s

This one works much better than the aluminum one. I have yet to have issues with it. https://www.rovanrc.com/product-rv85247

I believe Turtle Racing has one that is similar but different. For some reason or another I think it was pulled out of production. I cannot find it on DDM Racing's website (you can get the spare parts for it but not the complete kit). I do remember reading some reviews on it, not many were happy campers. This is what it looked like: http://turtleracingproducts.com/products/v2-pull-start/ Here is one of the issues found on youtube:

However, on my other Baja that is not a Rovan or King Motor, I use this one: https://www.detroitperformancerc.com/product-page/rcmax-zenoah-cy-billet-easy-start
It will not fit under the body panels unless you modify them. I recommend the outerwears cover specifically for the Taylor RC pull start. It keeps the dust out. I have it mounted on a Taylor 35cc engine. Before I used that engine, also used it with a Zenoah-ESP G340RC engine. As I found with the Rovan design, a similar issue can happen with this one, the spring loaded levers may get stuck in the run position due to dust collection. Having the outerwears screen to keep the fine dust out works. You will need the underside engine cover as well. Grass is not the issue, the fine dust and sand tends to cause issues.

I would agree with Doug on the stock pull start for the Zenoah. That is what I am using right now with the Z-ESP G340. It may seem difficult to pull due to compression but that is just the first few pulls (with the choke on). It does get easier once you figure out the method.

Agree with Doug?🤔 OK

I don’t have any issues with the stock zenoah pull starters. There’s an art to starting these engines. Once you master that you will be good. Now if you wanna spend some money you can get the Taylor RC one. I heard it’s a good one.
does it fits on a fuelie 30.5 engine? the taylor rc pull start ?

It will fit the fulie 30.5 engine. The stock plastic pull start that was equipped on the Taylor 35 engine was used on the King Motor 30.5 engine. I have also tried the Zenoah stock pull start on the 30.5. The Taylor easy start will fit the King Motor 30.5 as the stock pull starts from the Taylor and Zenoah fit that engine. Taylor 35 came with a CY pull start out of the box. I replaced that with the Taylor easy start so I had the spare and used it after the Rovan easy start crapped out. Direct fit.

As for the Taylor easy pull start, it will stick out more than a stock pull starter. Same bolt pattern and geometry for mounting the main housing. The only thing different is the dog bone attachment and how it is mounted. This design is made for a stock flywheel with the extruded section that is used with your typical plastic pull stater. If the dog bone assembly does not rest flat on the mount, you may need to grind down the prongs on the end of the flywheel extension just a bit as that could interfere in final assembly. I did not check fitment of that on the 30.5cc engine regarding the extended prongs, but had to do some minor grind on a 30 degree North 38cc engine to fit the Taylor RC easy start. That is a CY engine too, however the flywheel may be a bit different than the KM30.5 engine.

The Taylor dog bone assembly does not require replacement of the flywheel nut. Instead, the dog bone mount attaches using the two screw holes in the flywheel (they are there for using a flywheel puller). The dog bone assembly then screws onto that mount. The only picture I have of the dog bone mount installed is when I changed over from the Rovan easy start (crapped out) to the Taylor RC easy start kit. I now have it installed on the Taylor 35. The Zenoah-ESP engine has the original stock Zenoah pull start. Have not had any issues with that either. The stock Zenoah pull will fit on the 30.5 engine as well as I had used it with that engine before I made some engine swaps on some vehicles.
