So the hpi shock shaft covers are 18 bucks for 2. Had a brain fart. Walmart bicycle tubes work freggin awesome and actually even work better. 4.50 for a tube and there's plenty to make at least 3 sets for all the shocks....

I have also used this little mod for shock covers. Use a 1 1/8" diameter tube and insert springs done.

I did that to one of my rigs a few years ago, around 2011. I recently got back into it, after 5 years or so of playing with firearms, I ended up cutting it off because the tube kept coming off the spring at the cup.

I just cut them a little long and tucked them into the spring. Very tight fit so no issues with tjem coming loose

No issues with smaller tubes inside the spring either
