hi, i have a baja 5t all stock and have some questions..

why does the baja 5t with the 26cc cy engine is slower than the 5b with the 23cc both stock....the exhaust tone on the 5t is lower on all rpm ranges...to much wheel spin?

why does it seem to be more 5b's than the trucks?seems like the truck body will help protect it better.

looking into buying a new _________ large scale in the next month, what would be your choice and why..

i always like building engines so the next question....what would be the best big bore & stroker kit..

i know there is alot of factors but what needs to be done to the truck to pull wheelies..

forgot...any advice on what should be done first....

also what tires to use on dirt and street...

thanks

The 23cc revs slightly higher than the 26cc but the 26cc has slightly better torque. Speed and acceleration all depend on the gearing. That said, it must be tuned properly to get the best out of it or you will be changing the gearing to get the same results.

slight gearing differance and wheel height differance. the B tires are shorter with a 20t drive gear on the tranny layshaft, the T has taller tires and a 19t drive gear on the layshaft (used to offset the taller T tires)
why does it seem to be more 5b's than the trucks?seems like the truck body will help protect it better. the rtr 5B and SS were out almost 2 years fully prior to the 5T being released. so far twice the life span, twice the sales, twice the number of Bs. ect..

imho, you cant go wrong with ANY of the ESP Motors available from DDM (davesmotors.com) from the topend kit to the full motors, the ESPs are good running and reliable mills. I would stick to a 30.5 ESP 4bolt Zens, but you need a 4bolt case (zenoah), if you want to use your stock case, you ll have to use the ESP CY 2bolt topend kit.

but, good torque, good traction, and a finessefull throtle finger will go along ways to getting wheelies. and a GOOD low end torque pipe.

as far as what to get next that is new, check my reply to your other thread.

In my opion
I love the O'Neill Brothers 30.5 Zenoha full modded motor unblevable power ans reliabilty. install a Jet Pro pipe and watch all of your compatition fall in the way side. just can not beat the power combo.

If you have not tried a 30.5 full modded motor from O'Neill Brothers you can not give an honest answer. I have been running O'Neill brother motor for years and the power is the best I have seen. My car consistenly wins on pure power out of the turns. If you couple that engine to a Jet Pro pipes hang on in will go like the devil. This combination is how I win races. you can not beat the service yuo will get from them both. I'm talking from excellent experience. they are the bet

I prefer lower cc to get the revs. too much torque is just wheelspin. everyone thinks to get the most out of their rc they need the biggest motor, but racing in many different classes has proven time and time again that the smaller cc motors tend to turn faster and more consistent laps. having control is a big part. yes you can change gearing and stuff to accomodate, but I would say a g270 modded is the best bang for the buck out there, either esp or onb (I am an ONB fan myself, but both are great engine builders).

gotta toss out another TMR Performance is another US based engine builder

a good pipe will wake up any engine and the very first thing I change on any large scale. a crappy engine with a good pipe will outperform a good engine with a crappy pipe
