my ackerman keeps popping out. always the passenger side. i bend it in at a 45 angle & it still pops out. rediculous. i inspect it & it has the same amount of play as the driver side.. guessing i'm a have to get the aluminum ones. anyone have these? do they have a tight fit or does the ackerman wiggle in the aluminum ones like it does in the plastic ones? i need to look up rcdads ackerman' mod. oh, sorry. no video today. i went to the park, the far end & i drew a crowd from the front. it made me wary a parent would let their kid walk in the way as i was making a pass.
 
It wiggles the same in the aluminum as the plastic. Kinda weird I've never had one pop out. I am just good at bending them.
 
I didn't think there was enough room between the bellcranks and the top plate for it to come out. I have to remove the top plate to get my Ackerman bar out.

My thoughts exactly. That is weird though but hey metal bends oddly sometimes
 
The nut would be a more secure way if doing it I think or maybe just put a little ball of jb weld on the tip to prevent the bar from coming out
 
pics will have to wait. i don't know if i have a steering issue or what & i'm calling it a night. i gotta wake up early. i'll mess w/it more tomorrow. yesterday my truck turned like a turd where i bashed at but it turned sharp at my house? lol, gremlins. it's gotta be.
 
Ok got it. Just took it for a drive & so far so good. It feels tight still. I think the best fix though is rcdad's Ackerman mod. This'll hold me for awhile but I fear the plastic to wallow out. Pics up soon. I pushed the Ackerman farther up & drilled new holes for it. I put it in upside down to clear down the front drive cup at the diff. I threaded the ends, placed a lock nut on it & loctite'd it. Then saw zalled (I don't have a dremel) the ends past the nut off to clear the top plate. Pics soon but 1st I'm a cut my grass lol.

Yeh I lost a bushing for the steering post some how. Prolly fell off in my truck & then lost it in the yard while testing it out. Darn it. lol.
