I installed my new alloy upper suspensions arms and took it out for the race today. I ended up breaking both turnbuckles from bumping other cars. The alloy set comes with an aluminum ball joint also. The setup is really stiff and doesn't have enough flex to accommadate crashes. What did seem to work really well was using the plastic balljoint with the alum arm. It still had enough flex to prevent turnbuckle damage while stiffening the front suspension.
So far I've installed and tested the following aluminum upgrade parts:
7075-RC Front Steering Knuckle (Highly recommended)
C-Hubs (Highly recommended)
Front shock tower (Good upgrade but not abolsutely necessary)
Front upper steering plate (Add some support but not really needed)
Rear shock tower (Good upgrade but not abolsutely necessary)
Rear knuckles (Do not get these. The rear axle binds on the bearing hole. Get the 7075-RC version)
