HPI Baja 5b to 5t conversion build begins

It didn't when I had it all together before the bottom plate . The gear mesh was still off then too. That was why I bought the new bottom plate. I thought the Rovan my have been slightly off.

Damn this is wierd. That's the only thing I can think of ?
Do u have this ?

I had to modify that piece to get it to even fit when I originally did the engine swap . Before I modified that part I couldn't get the engine in to line it up with the mounting holes.

Looks like the clutch bell is the problem or the shaft that the spur gear is on is too long may also be completely wrong

The shaft for the spur gear is the right length . Pic is showing that I can't push it on because the spur gear hits a little one.

Is the shaft bent? Feel like you'd notice that.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm i read a couple of thingz and 1 dude said this
"i had a similar problem with a tr top plate and tr brake, it may look properly seated but i bet the tr plate is not seating correctly on the location lug on top of the diff, thus pulling the layshaft out of line, my solution was to slacken the brake assembly off a little then loosen the top plate bolts just a little then using a piece of wood and hammer gently tap the top plate around the diff lug, tighten the bolts slightly and continue tapping the plate until you've locked the bolts up, then try your mesh, if its alot better then careful tighten the tr brake bolts checking the mesh before they become fully tightened."

So the gear mesh problem is fixed . Smooth as butter now. It cost me more money. Ended up buying a TR v2 HD Clutch System , new Pinion and Spur gears .

I think I need to call TR and see if they want to sponser my buggy with all the damn parts I've bought . My New Turtle Racing 5B/T

Engine and chassis are married back together . Need to do a few little tweeks and set the servos .

Not for a while yet . Need to make the final adjustments then I can clean up the table a bit so I can set up for painting .

Quick update. I ordered a set of heavier springs for the IRC big bore rear shocks and thicker oil for front and rear . The spring rate just seems a little soft . But I'm not going to change anything until I try it out .
