Anyone ever stick or spin a ring on their piston?

There is an indent on the open ends of the ring that are supposed to stop at the index located in the piston's oil groove (tiny pin on intake side). If it rotates past, this is what happens:

-no other leaks, mixture issues, whatsoever with this engine, it just quit during a tumble.

Davesmotors.com told me my walbro 813 carb. settings of 1 and 1/8 turn out on LSN and 1 and 3/8 out on HSN were to blame. I agreed to disagree, because the ring still should not have spun past the index. Just a warning to all on the potential of tuning errors, which I'm still not sure I made....

That sucks and thanks for the heads up. I'd like to know more how those settings cause that though.

maybe during the tumble it may have ran lean,,, not getting enough fuel and oil,, and tried to seize itself .. gizmo motors has a good vid on there about tuning your car by listening to how it runs,, obr has a decent one too.
