Anyone tried using silicon to put tyres on?

I had a thought today (thats a first i know)

How would silicon go for sticking tyres to rims instead of super glue/CA?

It would take longer to dry, but it wouldn't crack and you could do a pretty neat and tidy job with it

When my Baja's tires tore, I used the marine equivalent to shoo goo (I don't think it is silicone though). It held up very well for months (I had to replace the tires before the patch failed). I don't see why it wouldn't work for your application!!

Sounds like a good experiment can't be too bad just pull it off clean if it doesn't work but as I say pull of clean not sure it would hold.
