Anyone used MMR for powder coating?

Im thinking of sending my chassis / Alloy radio plate / front brace & side plates off my MB Pro to be powder coated by a service offered on MMR.

i just wanted to add some colour to my MB Pro instead of just a dull silver & black! lol

Anyone used MMR before for this powder coating service?, or anyone have any feedback of powder coating?

I would have preferred to have anodising but cant find anywhere to do it (i live in UK) but this service on MMR looks pretty good & not a bad price (been quoted around £40 to have all pieces done with a 3day turn around) ive asked for purple & its a gloss finish.

Anyway any feedback on powder coating be appreciated before i go ahead!

The main factor will be surface finish. Polish it like mad with fine emery, then an unwaxed polishing wheel. Finally degrease it as best you can (use washing up liquid, then rinse and dry. they should degrease it anyway but never hurts to do it twice).

try some of thease. I don't know if they do small order stuff, but an email wouldn't hurt.

You'll pay more for hard anaodising, but it is tougher. Only problem is that they may need to know the exact type of material. prob best to send a photo to the company when asking for a quote.

A proper powder coating place will degrease it for you. I know a place in Oldham if that is any use to you. We used to use them with work & they do a decent job.

yeah thats them mate, i had a load of engine and suspension parts off my old cossie done by them, my mate new them so got a good deal from them too :cool2::cool2:

We used to install ultra clean operating theatres & they did the painting for us so the quality has to be top notch:rockon:

they said they would degrease it & sandblast it if it needed it so guess thats a good thing
