Got the bug after building one for someone else, and found a deal I couldn't pass up.

It was filthy, and needs some TLC but it was a good starting point. V2 rtr, came with a 34cc king motors engine installed, turtle shock towers/plates/v2 clutch, has what i think are some form of aftermarket dogbones and cups, and a victory pipe.

The fun surprise was the 29.5 OBR reed motor that they thought was fried. It got soaked in marvels mystery oil to free the ring, I believe it will run like a top now! If push comes to shove I will rejug it!

It was filthy as all hell, broke it down for an assessment and clean up!

So at this point it's looking better. Will be rebooting and filling shocks when they get here. Have a killerbee, the phatdad chassis braces and fan shroud saver, a new shroud and cover for the motor (since someone mongo'd the bolt for the motor mount off in the threads), a GBE motor mount, and a yamadude linkage on the way. From experience, id rather go back together with the better bracing and mounts, the car already shows signs of a bad landing. I've always worked in sections on these cars, and will worry about suspension once the chassis and driveline is what I want.

We'll see where it goes from here, there's a few of us talking about scratching a local track out, so definitely looking forward to tinkering!

Ain't nothing like finding a deal....

This one definitely turned out to be a pretty good deal, got the whole thing for 450. The radio has a broken antenna pivot, but I can 3d print a support for it and it will be 100% fine. I mainly run spectrum these days, but it's not a bad radio, and I will probably keep it on this car for the time being.

The car itself was built originally by someone with similar taste to mine in Bajas, it's just had a bit of a rough time lately. I'll probably have it running and driving after this long stretch im going to work, if the reed motor does not crank I will test out the 340 clone until I can get a new jug from OBR.

Plans wise, im going to put hostile one piece hubs on it, probably at least rear innovative big bores( I had one of the very first sets ever sold in the US and love them), and rpm arms. I wish I could get the Overkill rear upper heim and A-arms i used to run, but he appears to be out of business.

Not sure what else I will do at first.... windows/mesh and outerwears/ and QD the cage, then go get some wheel time.

Rpm arms are great ? have them on my Baja and they can take some crazy abuse.
My last build had rpm front upper and lower, and then rear lower, with the overkill uppers. Only time I ever hand an issue with them was taking a rear quartering shot on a dirt oval, but there's not much you can do with that. The lower arm would break, the upper would keep the bone from bending. I just started keeping spares lol

There's an Australian company (I think) Called a.pia making upper arms that look kinda like the overkill arms, they seem tough
. Not sure where you can get them though, probably facebook

Just a heads up, they only have extended length right now, but will be doing the stock length early q1 next year. They're very responsive to the facebook account!

That's great for positive camber but I want negative. Mine are all the way in and it's level. I do have mis matching parts up front, maybe that''s my issue? I'll check more into it. Thanks.

I've got Integy arms with KM ball joints up front.

I considered shaving the ball joints down some but I feel I won't be able to get a flush finish so I'm not gonna do it. I guess maybe if I use a belt sander? Idk, I'd rather buy something correct if that's possible.

Do you have a set of stock uppers? Integy, in the past has had some problems with things being out of spec. You might want to see if the pocket is just not deep enough.

You could take plastic ones down on a belt sander, or clamp them in a miter box and cut them off. I would get the correct tap, and chase the thread in with a tap when you do. If they're metal, you will definitely need to chase them in with a tap. If you can find someone with a small lath, it would be the most accurate.
