well guys i want to get an fg baja or fg marder. is there one i should stay away from?? which one has parts available for more??? i want to start racing on a dirt track mainly.. i like the looks of the baja more though..
 
They are the same buggy. I go for the Baja 4WD if you can swing the $$$ I've had several myself and love the 4wd system they use. Where are you located? This will let us help you figure out which way to go with tracks/racing.
 
michigan... theres a 1/8th dirt track near me. it seemed ok with my firehammer.... and there some guys at couple tracks around michigan with the baja 5bs that have tracks in their back yard as well
 
If you can use the 4WD with the others it would be sweet. The corners it takes it unreal. On a 1/8track it would run nice. PLus since you have a firehammer I go with something a bit different.

owning a 5b it was too long n narrow i didnt like it on a bmx track. i got the fire hammer since it was a bashing truck. didnt like it. these guys at the track were runing 1/8 scale nitro truggy/buggy and they flew. so i was lookin into the fg baja or marder or maybe a harm bx 1 or 2. i would like to get the baja and later get the 4wd kit. i thought bought converting the firehammer over to fg since its a marder clone , but it'll be cheaper to buy an fg
 
I would take the Harm over the FG in performance but not sure how they do on a BMX track. The tracks have high jumps which may be a bit much for the weight of these scales. If you look at the Euro races you can see how high the jumps are, maybe 12" at the most. Any higher and it's more like a table top jump. The one thing about running with 1/8 is that the weight will help push them out of the way. :clown:
 
theres a great deal on another forum for a harm bx1 im just woried bout parts availability now. i can get fg stuff but i don't see much for the harm or for the bx1
 
If parts are available for the bx1, Mike at LSA is great to deal with. He's now a distributor for Harm. I saw some other model on the Harm site for offroad though
 
well.i have had the baja 5b ss kit.i did not like thet way it drove at all.i now have the fg monster truck with jeep body.i like the way it drives 10 times better.if you are going to get a baja,5t.not the 5b.thats imo.
 
one local hobby shop stocks some stuff for the 5b/5t around here n hes like 45 minutes away . the 3 local shops by me do not stock anything for them . so still i gotta order online anyways..
 
so i was offered a trade on another forum. my stock firehammer mt for a marder that hasnt been ran in a year. it has a 29cc engine from oneil bros with a pipe. it'll come rtr minus a body.. what other bodys will fit without modifying the car. ive seen the marder to baja conversion, what bout the supercross or leo????
