Got some bearings that seem to be stuck solid in alloy hubs any ideas/tips on how to remove them entirely. I didn't put them in, just want to remove them as I believe there should be a spacer between them which currently isn't there. I think that they are in part seized in due to the fact that this spacer is missing. I have tried applying heat to them but was afraid to heat it up too much in case I damaged the alloy parts. Not sure how much heat these things can take.

heat the oven to about 350, pop the part on a cookie sheet for about 10 mins. take it out with oven mits and bang the part on the table. the aluminum should expand faster than the steel. if that fails then a wooden dowel to bang the bearing out... a lot of times guys have to heat the alloy part and freeze the bearing to get them in, then when things nowmalize, it's in there... depending what you have to work with to get it out, the bearing might get toasted...like if you can only get to the inner bearing race on the side you have to wack it, then it could distort the race or the bearing. best case scenario is being able to get something round that connects to the outside edge of the bearing

I heat the aluminum piece too. Then the bearing is loose and can be tapped out. Best to use a pen type torch and keep the heat where you want it.
