just got the belt drive upgrade, wow very cool, and the 7075 hubs. so im strapped for cash, kinda... ok i broke a front diff cup on saturday, removed front axles from the CVD's and have been continuing to run with 2wd, which the donuts are freaking awsome. today my throttle servo died. took it all apart hoping it would be a broken wire connection or something i could fix. nope one of the semiconductors on the board burned a hole in itself. if i had an exact replacement i could probably fix it, but i don't and i have no markings. so im now in the market for a throttle servo, i've had a sugestion for a steering servo, this is holding up well so far besides bending the snot out of plastic horns. anyway whats a good high quality upgrade, something reliable but not bullet proof replacement, and one thats about the same as what failed?

If you found it burnt, you might want to check your EPA (end point adjustment). You don't want any servo still pushing after the throttle or brakes are maxed out. It burns them out if they are told to move but can't. This holds true for the steering also.

I've only ran Hitec so I can't really speak on the other. Many have good luck with Savox and Hobby King makes some inexpensive units. Again, I have never tried them. I'm sure others will chime in.

My stock servo died and I ordered a hitech.

While I was waiting I had a bunch of nitro stuff, and put in a traxxas 2070 servo.

It is like .02 sec slower, but has the same torque as the hitech.

So far still running it.

ok i got the hitech645 local, no wait, no shipping for 30bucks. i finished putting it in tonight and i think i put it in backwards. I mounted it in the same way the stock hexfly servo was in, the stock arm even fits the splines. but its like polarity is reversed, had to set the reverse switch for the servo to get the darn thing to work the right way with the trigger, and with the failsafe function is gives it full bore throttle. not good lol, used to be full brake. so. did i install it backwards? if so then there's going to be some modification to the linkages for brake and throttle.... not sure really don't want to pull it back out but o well. think anyone has a picture they could post to help me out. "visual learner". . thanks again.

Some servos operate in the opposite direction. That's why the transmitters have the reverse setting. You have it in correct.

The failsafe can be reset also, so it brakes instead of full throttle.

Are you running the external plug in failsafe? If so I'd recommend filing that in the round can. You don't need both. There is a tiny button on the receiver next to the led to set the failsafe.

i would change the servo arm the stock is 25 spline and hitec uses 24 spline the stock servo arm will fail i have seen it a few times on other cars just so you know

no and i do have the kill switch too but i like the idea of the failsafe in the reciever anyway working properly just incase something dumb happens i want the brakes on, not any throttle, and i already cut the external failsafe into peices. " neeeeeded really small wires to make some custom led lights in the front bumper". ok good to know on the arm. yea the hitech came with like 5 different possible servo arms, i'll switch that up tomorrow too, thanks for the heads up on the spline count that would have been a good use for the kill switch if that arm got striped out. its kinda funny the stock hexfly seems like a knock off of the hitech, didn't take the hitech apart, but from the outside they look similar, where are the hitech's made?

Reverse the throttle channel and reset the failsafe. If you don't reset the failsafe, it'll go full throttle when it kicks on.

Here's a vid that covers resetting the failsafe...

I believe the Hitec's are made in Korea.
