boiling wheels to make them stronger

hi all just a ? well Ive been looking at these wheels i http://www.rc-car-online-shop.de/ls...en.off_road.monsterreifen.reifen_geklebt,.htm well the thing is i had a set of these last year and i placed them on my 4wd fs and was mucking about when this happened http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=g6mKD8qkoBY the thing is i know they are cheaper than fg wheels but i got me thinking if i boiled them would this help as i know boiling boiling other parts of these rc cars does help make them stronger has any one got any ideas

I don't know that boiling them makes them stronger.I believe that boiling them makes plastic parts more flexible thereby making them less brittle and less susceptible to cracking or shattering.If you have a wheel that's over-flexing ,boiling will then worsen your dilemma.Can someone confirm this?

ya its a factor of the heat in the boiling water re arranging the molecular structure of the plastic, allowing it to have a bit more Give. i don't think it could hurt, but one thing i do think about with this is will it make the rim TOO soft, ie, causing it to warp under the weight of the car.

I certainly wouldn't recommend boiling FS wheels.Apparently the plastic used in FS wheels is rubbery enough!

well thanks for that the feed back lads i think ill just wing it again
oh the wheels are from Carson I know about the fs crap wheels i use them under my car when im working on them This way i they don't slide about on the work bench

LOL...

Years ago I remember boiling all the plastic parts on my HPT rs4 M/T (1/10 nitro) It helped a lot and they quit breaking.

Give it a shot.
