Pretty much terrified to put the body on now. Guess I'll bore some more holes. Perhaps remove full windows if I don't lose all structural integrity of the shell.

I'm going to assume this is previous damage from first incident though. It wasn't running long at all.

I wouldn't sweat it. Replace the isolator and gaskets, put needles back to stock settings then run without body 1st to see if it is good. Then try w the body back on.

iv sanded my down before ( more than once ??) I find that the thread insert shift a bit??‍ sand papper and a square works great??

Yeah I'm not concerned about the body...just more of the one and absolute only time it was on it got hot... apparently hot hot lol

I'll order some parts here shortly. Both of my switches are shot as well on both rigs

Both the 5ive and the dbxl are destroyed lol that's all. Nothing bad. Beyond worn and hit etc

Cut some vents?? iv opened it a bit round the motor as well ?? add vents add youll rocking??

Iv never had my losi shut off from overheating only had some isolator leaks?

That still baffles me as well. It's just not something we should have issues with. Really think there should have been a hear shroud for the carb to help keep heat off the isolator

They've got a bad rep from what I've read...all they do is transfer the heat to the carb.

Yeah no heat sinks. They don't work for ?. I mean like a gasket type material to help reflect the heat from the engine away. Very common on small engines, both 2 and 4 stroke. Just not ours for some reason. See if I can google a pic of one.
Ok that was easier then I thought. The biggest gasket goes closest to the engine with no purpose other then to keep the heat off the insulator and carb. Actually works rather well.
