I'm thinking of converting my MT to brushless using the Kershaw conversion. What do you guys think this conversion kit. I also plan on using Chinese electronics to keep the cost downsince I've always had good luck with them with my 10th and 8th scale electronics.

I plan on using a Turnigy Trackstar 200amp Octo ESC and a Trackstar 1/5 760KV motor.

The motor is $95 and the ESC is $114. Its a pretty big difference versus Castle.

Skip the trackstar esc. It does not have a good track record. Motor should be fine as long as your watching temps.

The only reliable escs out there right now is the xl2 and mgm.

I just bought a brushless MT. It has a Leopard 910kv motor and a 150amp esc. It runs a 6s 22.2v 5000mah battery. Has fans on both motor and esc. I am going to runs this setup for a while. I like the lower kv motor for the grunt. You can get higher kv motors for more speed but it is a MT and a little heavy for speed runs.

I am rebuilding the diffs and installing all new bearings. Got some

'skinny tires' for it. We shall see how it goes.

I like the Kershaw designs units. But they are pricey! Real quality there.

This is like buying a King Motor Baja and rebuilding it as a HPI. LOL. :D
