Burgess rc returns ?
since orpington rc track closed i have been actively looking for a new site for a track,it came to my attention a couple of months ago that Burgess park bmx track has a new management team and i have been in talks with them about hiring the track off them on sundays for some rc car action whether it be nitro, petrol or electric.good news is they have agreed to hire it to me,the bad news is they are going to bulldose the track soon so i only have it for two sundays ,these being july 3rd and july 10th,good news is they are rebuilding the track BIGGER and we should be able to hire it after the works are completed,so if your fed up with bashing in the open feild come and have some fun in a secure track . there are some vids of burgess park rc club on youtube have a looksy or if you need any more info pm me,there will be a fee to come and play all depending on numbers so let me know if your interested, hope some of you will be there or i will be out of pocket and lonely.

A VID OF BURGESS PARK BACK IN THE DAY

went down to the bmx track today to make sure everthing is ok for sunday, ive got to make a cover for the bmx starting grid which is not a big problem but the surface is very stoney so may need to rack some of the bigger stuff off so the nitros don't have trouble getting round :)

Well done Glyn, it's tough to get people to come down to a track. Just for future reference, would this be the sort of venue suitable for holding a national round?

the alteration start next week and are gonna take about a year to complete as they are altering/refurbishing the whole park ,i would say not as it will primerally be a bmx track so no timing equipment or camping facilities ,i hope to get invited back when the new track is built (about 3 times the size it is now) with the added bonus of being floodlit so some night time bashing should be on the cards!

Thats a shame, will it be coucil run or a company? The timing side of things isn't a problem as there is always a way around it i.e a bridge across the track. The camping thing would be a problem though.

it is going to joint run by council and a charity for kids ,but im lead to beleive they will have national bmx events there
