I was wondering if there is a thread about tuned pipes for the Carson/Smartech Platforms?

If not I would like to discuss fitment, any gripes, and positives about Pipes you are running on this platform. I know some may be running an FG pipe on a "Smartech" chassis which is cool, but not interested to see an FG car (wrong thread)

Also pics of modifications to the exhaust (if it was required i.e. brackets), as well as problem areas.

Lets see what we can get going.

When I fitted an Elcon drive train and rear end to my traveller, the DDM pipe fitted quite well. The hole in the rear mount landed perfectly with the upper bolt in the drivetrain so all i had to do was use a longer bolt.

I have the DDM torque pipe and had to make the side mounting hole on the pipe bigger for it to fit correctly. Needed to use a washer to prevent the bolt from sliding through the bigger hole. Works well though....combined with the 29cc engine from Powerslide Racing it has given me massive power gains.

They have the same mounting position as the torque pipe, so should fit ok. Might need to do the same as me, and enlarge your mounting hole...but that is easy. Depending on your shell you might need to mod it also.

I've use both the DDM HT DOm and the 3pc Fg pipe on my FH Buggy and the DDM is much better performer then the FG. The FG was only good for higher rpms the DDM seems to be way better all the way through. The FG was quite a bit quieter too.

Isn't the FG pipe more like a tuned pipe, whereas the DDM Pipes are like expansion chambers?

What part numbers for either pipe ?

Thanks for the info.

I have a custom CAD designed stainless steel pipe on my XTM Grizzly MT platform . It fits great when you build it to fit your truck. It has a .187" Stainless Steel head flange that was watercut.

using the jet pro mt5 2 silenced pipe. had to mod an fg mt front tower on for the mount. if I had to do it again I would have bought the mb pipe instead as it bolts to the steering post, though the mt5 2 pipe is great balance

I have a Dom Top End and Dom Torque.

I have the Dom Top End running with my 29 cc and it's fast as hell. I haven't tried the Torque with it yet. I have used the Torque with a 23cc and it was impressive on the low end.

The Top End pipe still improves low end torque over the stock exhaust correct? Just not as much as the Torque pipe does?
