Cat chewed off the rx antenna, how to fix?

If it is still in one piece you could solder it back on. If not just replace the $10 receiver.

I think I'm gonna try & solder some speaker wire to the chewed up end. Then put some shrink wrap inserted w/a cut off coat hangar inside next to the shrink wrap. Guess I'll try that first.

bert, thats meaner then he$%. How bout booting it to the roof--- The antenna on my fly-sky has 2 wires- really small ones- its called a tuned dipole antenna.- the replacement wires would have to be the same diameter and lengith for it to be tuned properly to the reciever-- If you have a kill switch- you could go ahead and try to effect repairs on the antenna wire. agan- if you donot have a kill switch, its not worth the risk-- trust me- i know all about a runaway-- its costly.

Lol, the cat lives. I have a killer bee on it. I figure as long as the speaker wire I use is equal to or larger than the rx antenna I should be fine. I should leave some wire exposed w/out the insulation correct?

look at some of my older posts about the recievers. not certan if the photos still are still up. thing is-- if the cat tugged on the antenna wire, it could have broken the solder joints where the wire connects to the recievers printed circut board.- yea, a kill switch is a good thing to have-- but- i bought a new reciever with faulty solder joints- the car worked just fine @close range, just as soon as these joints i am talking about let go- they shorted out the reciever- total loss of control- no steering-throttle- failsafe-kill switch- hauled ass into concrete. soo- i am just saying- the killswitch-fail safe is not 100%-- nothing is-- if the wire breaks in the reciever- --- just saying to save you $$$$$.

Ok thanks Alfred. I'll give it a look over. I've read some of ur posts talking about it. I'll prolly reread those.
